Don't forget to add the $50 cable...
I've been using Arlo cameras for the last 2 years and really love them. The best thing about them is that they can be mounted pretty much wherever you want, and I always make sure to run a power cable so I don't have to be changing batteries all the time.I currently have 3 Arlo Ultra 4k cameras all using Wasserstein power cables with no problems. When I bought this floodlight I ordered those same cables since the floodlight uses the exact same cable connector as the Ultra 4k cameras. I like Wasserstein because they are priced reasonably and are great quality. The problem is this floodlight camera disables itself when using anything other than Arlo's own, (and ridiculously overpriced), power cable. What the heck Arlo??????In the first screenshot you can see how the floodlight disabled itself when it was plugged in with the Wasserstein power cable. The funny thing is in that screenshot the camera just below it, (Arlo Ultra), is using the same Wasserstein cable and is working just fine. There is no explanation for this other than Arlo is getting greedy and implementing firmware updates designed to block 3rd party power cables. I wouldn't mind buying Arlo's cables, but theirs is $50... yeah, $50 for a USB cable!!The camera itself is good and the light is bright so I'm keeping it. You can definitely tell it isn't as good as the 4k cameras which makes me wonder why the floodlight isn't offered in a 4k version. But my biggest gripe is that if all new Arlo cameras are going to require only Arlo branded cables I probably won't be buying any more. I've been a loyal Arlo customer and have recommended them to friends and family, but that stops now unless Arlo lets us use 3rd party cables like all of their older cameras allow.I picked up the stupid $50 cable yesterday and now it's working as it should have with the other cables. There's no reason it shouldn't have worked with the Wasserstein cable.

Lots of issues updated
Starts to record when a vehicle is already half way through the Video. Cannot see a license plate clear enough to read at 20 feet. Lots of charging issues. Battery does not last long have to bring in house to charge every 3 days because charging cables do not work.Updated. Camera will not record now for 2 months. Light does not come on but shows as fully charged. Trial period has run out

You only pay, pay, pay
After buying the most expensive camera on the market, you still have to pay a monthly fee for them to save your videos. Yes, they give you 3 months free, For more 300 dls. And then you still have to pay if you want to save them

Dont buy!!
*** update ***After trial period it will not record at allUnlike other arlo camsAnd now its past the return periodSo either you have to pay a monthly subscription or its a super expensive flood light that still doesnt work properly.Stay away!!!!!!!I almost never write reviewsI have several arlo q and like them a lotSo after someone broke into my car in the driveway i bought the arlo floodlightWaste of moneyIt misses event after event. RegularlyWhat’s the point of having a camera off it’s going to miss the event you need it to record?Their customer service is horribleI had agents close an open case for no reasonThen you have to start all over again.I have an open case now for 2 weeks. No contactThey cant resolve the issue. Tired of being asked to reboot and reset over and over and overGo buy another brandYou will regret buying this one

Not bad, not great!!
I’m a tech/gadgets enthusiast and I do have a lot of cameras and home devices, so let’s say I know a bit about the subject, I bought this camera because it’s the only option (floodlight) available that works with HomeKit, and that’s my smart home platform of choice, the camera works great but even though it’s expensive, I had to purchase a home base from Arlo to make it compatible with Apple HomeKit, and on top of that, it doesn’t support Apple secure Video, so Arlo wants you to pay a subscription fee if you want to have records of the footage, and as of many, I’m tired of so many subscriptions, so that’s why I’m not rating it higher.
