It only connects to the dedicated WIFI once it’s in water or when it is charging
Great piece of kit once I sussed out why it wasn’t connecting to the wifi, it would only connect when charging but as soon as you took it of charge lost connection, it actually only turns wifi on when it is sat in water

Bought 2 and sent 2 back, fully charged they fail to connect to ur wifi, tried on 3 wifi devices, a android phone, a apple phone and a microsoft tablet, failed on 3 devices with 2 units, there batteries are fubar, left on shelfs for years, they know there useless but sell them anyway, stay away from amazon, buy from a shop, make sure they charge and connect to wifi

The most useless device ever!
This deeper pro chirp 2 is the most inaccurate device I've ever used. It can scan in 15cm of water so I tested it out in a bucket with 31cm of water, it turned on fine, but that's as good as it gets! It showed the bucket as 2.5ft deep with thick weed of almost 2.5ft lol. The bucket was sat on my sandstone floor lol, so no vegitation under the bucket either. Such a waste of money!
