Great monitor!
I have been using this monitor for a week now and am very pleased with it. Yes, the battery does die if you leave the screen on all night but I noticed if I turn the screen off then it lasts longer. I just wake up and turn the screen on if I want to check on my daughter then turn it back off before I go back to sleep. Otherwise if I want to leave the screen on, I leave it plugged in at night. It's no different than having to charge your phone everyday. I'm still able to keep the charger in my bedroom upstairs and have the monitor downstairs for a few hours with no battery life issues. The picture is clear and the night vision works well. The camera is small and sits perfectly on the top of her crib. We've never lost connection or experienced any sort of lag. Great monitor!

Not sure if they got a faulty system or what) -the wide angle lens works great -night vision is great so far -get great range ...
9 months later:Parent unit stopped charging. Insurance we purchased through asurion is giving us the run around and amazon can’t help. Very upsetOnly had it a few weeks so I will update this if things change.Pros:-Love that it can do split view for the two cameras-Noise level seems totally high enough to me (I’ve seen some negative reviews about it being too quiet. Not sure if they got a faulty system or what)-the wide angle lens works great-night vision is great so far-get great range if the antenna is up-the tilt of the camera itself is really nice. A much better system than my last one.The sound activated screen is great. We use white noise so I just have the sensitivity set lower and it still can differentiate between the white noise and my child talking/crying.-the battery life on the parent monitor is long enough that I can use it unplugged in the morning before she wakes up, for a 2+ hour nap, and then again for 2+ hours after I put her down for bed before I go to bed. It wouldn’t last all day. But for our purposes it’s plenty long.Cons:-The volume button is very loud when you’re pressing it on the monitor. It should either decrease when you make it lower or just not make noise at all. No one in their right mind wants a loud button in the middle of the night.-wish there was an option that allowed you to listen to the monitor without viewing the screen. Just like a normal audio only monitor. This might exist, I just haven’t figured out how yet. I thought I had read that the camera had that function.

I love this monitor
I love this monitor! I bought it because I typically need to monitor two rooms and didn't want to carry around two audio baby monitors. I have 4 kids 5 and under and this thing is amazing. I have already used it to have conversations with my older children while they were playing in the playroom. I can monitor two kids taking a nap in two different rooms while I'm on the far end of the back yard without losing signal to the bedroom upstairs in the front of the house. I like that I can see the whole bedroom or the whole playroom with the wide lens. I have a baby and a toddler in a bedroom together so this way I can make sure the toddler is not in the crib sitting on the baby. I wish that it came with two wide lens. I probably wouldn't use it for just one child because I don't see the purpose. The sound is great no random white noise, no interference. The picture is good enough to tell what's happening in the room and who's in there. Night vision looks the same as day except it's black and white of course. The battery lasts a long time so far.I used a summer infant video monitor at a friend's house the image was about the same but the image and sound kept cutting in and out it like a movie that is skipping. This unit doesn't do that. The video and sound is flawless.I'll update after I've had it a while so far it's only been a few days but I haven't found any issues with it.

Not worth the high price
We have been using this monitor for over a year and it is failing. There are some pros but the cons far out weigh them. Many issues started about 6 months after we had it.Pros- nice picture. It is very clear in both day a night mode- temp feature is nice and pretty accurate- comes with two cameras- great rangeCons- it may come with two camera but on split mode it beeps constantly with an alert detecting sound. I have tried many settings to stop it but to no avail.- battery life of monitor isn’t great. Lasts about 2 hours with the screen always on- had monitor freeze many times at night. Not good when it looks like the baby is fast asleep but is really up crying!- charging port is very fragile. Had the monitor fail so many nights because the plug doesn’t stay secure in the charge port. I had to “fix” ours with a rubber band.- few times we had the monitor turn off in the middle of the night and wouldn’t turn back on until the battery was removed and replaced.Overall, a monitor is your eyes and ears for a room your not in. All of these failures prevents it from doing its job. We are currently looking for a new monitor. I would not recommend this monitor.

Great monitor, poor customer service
We have been using this monitor for about a year, and love it. So much so, we bought one for my sister in law. But for a couple of months now, the monitor has had a loose connection at the charging point, which means that the battery suddenly just stops charging, especially overnight and the monitor dies. We bought spare batteries, but that made no difference. VTech are absolutely impossible to get hold of (have sat on hold several times for ages before giving up), and their online portal does not work in my area, apparently (Michigan!). In addition, the monitor is not available for sale without a camera. Which we don't need. So, a little fed up, but I do think our monitor is just defective and this is generally a good product. I would buy another one, but I'm so put off by their lack of customer service that I'm going with another brand. One other irritation is the volume buttons make a loud noise when you press them and you can't turn that off. A bit annoying in the middle of the night or when you're trying to be quiet...
