DC Sports SKT1000 Shift Knob

Buy this now you won't regret it. I wish I knew about it sooner. It's so nice and smooth and more importantly heavy. It's so much easier to shift than a factory knob or crappy light aftermarket knob my car had on it. If you enjoy driving this or any quality one pound plus shift knob is a must have. One thing the instructions don't mention is one of the sides of the metal adapter has slots cut into it. Put this side down on the shifter stem. This way if you sell your car and you want to take your badass shift knob with you and the adapter gets stuck in the ball you can use a large screwdriver to unscrew it and swap for one of the other included adapters that fits your new car. The only thing I would want is if the company made this with a super tight leather cover so temperature is never an issue since other leather knobs are overpriced or held on by those dumb set screws that never work. PROS: Easier and faster shifting Good grip Smooth and solid Cool Finish Logo isn't overstated Not held on by crappy plastic screws like some name brands. CONS Gets hot in summer/cold in winter (use a cloth cover like a crown royal bag to cover when parked)

I bought this to replace the well worn OEM knob on a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata. This new knob fits perfectly and is about twice as heavy as the stock knob. Shift action is a bit easier and despite my hesitance to move to a ball shifter, it feels amazing. Plus the beautifully smooth paint on the knob matches the metallic grey exterior paint! There's no shift pattern on the knob and the kit doesn't come with any adhesive patterns. Packaging was minimal and easy to get into. The knob was super simple to install. It came with 4 different fittings for various thread pitches and a pad (for inside the ball). Installation took 5 minutes, but the test drive was waaay longer! :)

Nice, solid, and heavy. Perfect knob for my Thrustmaster Th8s, but if I did have a manual car I’d definitely be using this. Like the finish, it’s not too shiny and the actual knob isn’t too smooth and round, and still has some roughness to it.

Super easy to break a car window with this, 10/10 would recommend Honestly, it has a great feel, heavy and solid. Could do without the literal etched in brand name, but otherwise a fantastic heavy shift knob for around $70 less than other ones. Looks great against my suede shift boot

Nice weight and very comfortable to use. My biggest fear with this was that it would be scalding on hot days. It gets warm, but not uncomfortably hot. For reference, we only get triple digit hot days occasionally with most hot days in the 80's and 90's. My steering wheel gets hotter than the shifter. It does get cold in the winter, (high 30's) but again, totally manageable.

Good weight, very solid. At this price range it dwarfs any other shift knob!

I ordered the shaft style knob but got the ball knob instead. I was on the fence about which to get so I wasn't too disappointed. I got it to replace the Dragonball knob that came with my Miata, which actually felt pretty good. The DC knob is smaller and very heavy. Huge improvement in looks, but idk if it makes shifting feel any better. It came with plenty of adapters and couldn't be easier to install and remove. The logo is understated and the gray finish looks good with natural colored interior. If you have rotted lower shifter boots it will get hot, being a solid chunk of metal and all. Oh, the adapters are metal too. Overall nice piece.

Nice weight and okay quality for the cheap price, but it sits too high on my Miata shifter, leaving a large gap to the shift boot. Being returned.

It's a shift knob. I bought this for my Lexus IS since the gear selector knob/shift knob was starting to wear. OEM is really expensive, and clones I worry might be poorly made. The weight is really nice and make shifting feel substantial. Unfortunately I use this one in an automatic car, but I had the other shape (SKT1000) on a manual car and had a great experience with that. There are a few super minor complaints. The text on the top of the shift knob is embossed and can feel uncomfortable. Not a huge issue in an automatic car, but something to consider if you drive stick and tend to rest your hand on the shift knob. I expected it to be smooth like the other knob they offer. The adapters are plastic (as far as I can tell). They feel very cheap. Not terrible. They still do their job, but would've been nice to see something a bit nicer for the price. I guess they might've done this to prevent damage to the threads on the shifter. A subtle issue for automatic cars is that the weight makes it really easy for the car to shift into the 'manual mode.' I haven't had it move over on it's own, but when switching to D sometimes it slipped into the manual mode. I doubt it would damage any modern car. This one's SUPER MINOR. It's metal. It's gonna get hot, and if you leave your car in a hot environment it might burn you a bit. Pretty common with metal knobs. It's a well built shift knob. Not much to say.

Se siente muy bien al tacto, solido y pesado. Los cambios entran bastante bien. Totalmente compatible con mi Civic Si 2012.

I have had my car 4 months went through 5 knobs. This is the last one i will ever need it is perfect and ensures proper shifting.
