Great product for Outdoor Gas Latern!

I had been using the longer soft silk type mantles. They did not hold up well when I bumped my light post with the mower or my son's basketball nicked the pole. When these came in, I was skeptical because they are significantly smaller than my old ones. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. These are extremely bright and very uniform in shape. The old ones would sometimes burn in distorted compared to the other mantle in the light. These are tight domes that look clean and bright. Time will tell on the durability but they seem stronger.

We were very happy to finally find different gas mantles than Auer Licht, and we were more than willing to pay the 2 pounds extra per gas mantle believing that the American gas mantles would last longer and were of better quality than those of our local shops who only sell Auer Licht. Imagine our disappointment when our package arrived with an Auer Licht box in it! Not only have we been overcharged, we have been mislead by buying American gas mantles instead of Auer Licht and receiving Auer Licht gas mantles instead. The quality is poor and the mantles don't last long at all, as expected from Auer Licht. A big disappointment. I also find it very bad that the supplier doesn't mention anywhere that the gas mantles are from Auer Licht. We won't buy anything from this supplier again!

Were exactly as pictured and fit. very difficult to find these so happy with the product.

I had tried the soft version, also from American Mantle. They did not hold up very well and I felt like I had to replace them relatively quickly. After running through the soft versions, I tried the preformed version. Much easier to install and they have held up much better than the soft version version I installed. For me, in the long run it is worth paying twice the price for the preformed versions. Check to make sure you get your quantity right- the preformed mantle's I bought come 1 to a pack, while the soft versions were 2-packs.
