How many grams does this contain?

It was between 6 and 7 ounces of yarn. Probably 180 grams. I was able to crochet hats using a 4.0mm (G) crochet hook.

Is this raffia 1.5 or 2mm?

I believe it is closer to 2m. Fairly sturdy.

Can this yarn be use in makings pot holders

No, I would definitely not use raffia to make a pot holder. It’s not really a yarn so it wouldn’t protect from heat at all.

How strong is it? How many pounds will it hold before breaking?

I used it to make a small basket so I really don't know a weight limit.
