Can you remove the black mesh/flooring in the bottom half drawers?

Sorry the one I got didn't have drawers so m not so sure.

I see on the pictures that the 4 drawers can be separated from the top compartments. Is that true? Can I separate the top and the bottom?

Yes! The top bit comes off of the bottom. The drawers can be by themselves.
