Alen Air Filter BF35-Pure Replacement HEPA Filter for BreatheSmart Classic Air Purifier - Captures Allergens, Dust, & Mold (1 FIlter)

The air does seem better when I put this new filter in. Before, my Alen kept showing it was in the red with my other filter that came with the unit. It was a new filter...but kepts showing RED which is the color to indicate the air is horrible and it will try to fix it up. Well after I put this filter in, the light stopped turning red and stayed a cool blue color for most of the time. The highest I seen the colors go up with this filter is, was the color Orange which means the air is so so... It does take care of smell too. Not sure if it will clean up all the air if you are doing some heaving cooking around the house...but keep it on long enough and it does help neutralize any food smell or other

Have now gone through a few of these and can't spot any issues. They last almost exactly 6 months. Key is to open and vacuum the dust and hair off the outer foam from time to time to extend the efficiency of the filter. We live in the city close to a main road, so this purifier is working non-stop. Would be nice if the prices on these filters came down a bit, but it's generally reasonable for the quality and time it lasts. I have not noticed any toxic smells from any units I've used.

These are not cheap. But you should have researched that before buying an Alen air purifier right? We LOVE our Alen and have had one since 2015. I am currently using this in a room where I 3D print using plastics like PETG and ABS. ABS is known to release benzene and some other VOCs, so a natural choice for me to remove this threat was to purchase Alen's VOC filter since we already had the purifier. The extra charcoal added to this filter makes it perfect for filtering VOCs which is not something to take lightly. This filter not only filters VOCs, but also filters tons of junk that usually causes my wife to have asthma attacks every few days. She has not had to use her inhaler much since we purchased an Alen, and even less since purchasing this filter.

This filter does an AMAZING job at reducing allergens, especially pet dander from our four large dogs. It also eliminates ALL of the odors that the dogs produce as well as any cooking odors. "Polluted air first passes through Alen's washable Pre-Filter to capture large particles, extending the life of the filter. Coli and Staph Bacteria." Personally, I love that this filter is NATURALLY antibacterial and helps reduce the pollution in our home with its multi layer system. If you have an Alen filter machine then give the HEPA Silver - Carbon filter a try. I am certain that you won't be dissapointed.

The fit is perfect

I’ve tried a non OEM filter and they just don’t compare to the Alen Filter. The knock offs are cheap but are cheaply made. The Alen Filters are pricey but are well worth the investment. They hold up and filter dust and household odors the best. I can rinse out the foam layer a couple times and make the filter last up to 8 months. It’s a great filter.

Works as designed, perfect

My neighbour smokes A LOT, and the smoke seeps into the house. Other replacement brands are not able to handle it—when I smell the air coming out of the machine using cheaper aftermarket filters, it still smells very strongly of cigarettes. With this VOC filter, the only thing that comes out is a fresh breeze. Learn my lesson and buy only the OG replacement filters. Well worth the price.

We bought this filter 2 years ago when the forest fires were causing a lot of smoke in the air. The company who makes this item does not service Canada, luckily Amazon does.
