If you're looking to make the move from your trusty backpack, and join the lumbar pack movement, Hot Laps 5L is a great way to do that. It comes with a squat 2L, lumbar-shaped hydration reservoir, and still has plenty of space to stow all the gear you're used to having on hand for your rides. The cargo pocket features organization for a phone, tools, food, and a light shell. Lower straps untuck to hold any bulky knee pads while side compression straps keeps the load close as you empty your water, and the breathable AirFlow back panel does away with the hotspots and "pack sweat" you're used to pedaling through.

Great hip hydration pack! Sits on waist/hip well.
- Holds a good amount of water- Holds enough snacks for a day ride- Nice to have the adjustable side straps to cinch in the pack when the water pouch gets low; helps with keeping it close to the body- Has the adjustable straps under the pack to store pads, jacket....I haven't used it yet but good to have- Side pouch to carry snacks; would be nice to have 1 on either side but it has 1 at least- Clip on the hose is great because it actually stays put on the magnet- Mouthpiece doesn't have a close twist so be mindful when you throw your bag in the car nothing lands on the mouthpiece because it could cause it to leak

Good bag, just didn't like the bladder cause it's not removable.

Dakine Fail
I like dakine products so this was a surprise. I don’t want to leave a 1 star review but this pack is a Fail.Several problems on first use. The Magnetic holder for the hose is as strong as peewee herman. It is simply too weak for any kind of mtbing. The hose detaches with any bump, it’s ridiculous. So you’re bombing down a trail with a dangling hose ready to fly into your wheel. Of course that happens and the bite valve comes off which subsequently showers your backside with all your hydration. Go unzip the pack to see that you now have no water and of course the zipper pull comes right off. Wonderful. The waist cinch strap should also be better, its a low quality belt. This pack is simply not Dakine quality. I would avoid this one.

The best thing I didn’t know I would use so much.
This thing made me a fanny pack convert. I bring this on every ride and it easily holds my phone, wallet, keys, knife, multi tool, tire lever, mini pump, 2 Clif Bars, sunglasses and 2 liters of water. Not to mention a jacket can be strapped on to the bottom. I also use it for hikes, day trips and just walking my dog. I’ve used it nearly every day for the past 3 months and it still looks brand new. Dakine quality is strong with this pack. 🤘🏻
