The friction is just right and it's not like their is any difficulty to move the mouse on it even if it is control type,Mouse glides smoothly.The sides are stitched which enhance the durability and prevent the cloth from tearing. The surface of the mousepad should have been better so that would stay in its place and get a good grip. The main problem for me is the width, the length of the mousepad is good for horizontal movements but for vertical movement the space seems inadequate as i often end up hitting the buldged up stitched side which is so annoying (the width is 30 or 32 cm) other than that no problem.
