Amazing brace!
This brace is so good. Our 10 year old son has broken his ankle and rolled it twice in one year playing soccer. He started using a bukly lace up and wrap brace but after doing some research I came upon Bauerfeind. Yes a bit pricey but so so worth it. It is super slim, holds the ankle in tight and the figure 8 wrap supports all the areas around the ankle. The brace fits in his little cleats perfectly and he feels confident that the brace is effective, comfortable and supportive so he can continue playing without concern. Will mostly likely purchase another one so he can rotate since hes playing 4-5 times per week.

These have improved my sport performance and pain quite a bit!
I have had two catastrophic injuries to my left ankle: in October 2006 a vertical split in the Petronius Longus tendon and a complete rupture of the Brevis tendon a year or so after the first surgery. A gopher tunnel near the surface down at my barn and my ankle rolled onto the bone, ripping out all of my surgeon’s previous work on the Longus and snapping my Brevis tendon in half. Between the near-fatal DVT and Pulmonary Embolism I got two weeks after the first surgery, and the devastation of the second accident that took 5 hours of surgery to stitch and patch and graft me back together, I was bedridden with non-weight bearing status on and off for almost 3 years. I was an active mother of four, and an avid rider and hiker. I would have made a comple recovery had I only had the first repair but my surgeon told me when he opened my ankle up after the second accident it looked like spaghetti squash inside! Needless to say, I have tried dozens of braces. All the usual store brands and some online ones. They were useless and did not fit well under shoes and boots. I wore expensive Ariat paddock and endurance boots when riding for ankle support but eventually gave up using my saddle because my ankle just would not work in the stirrups. Eventually, over the years my right ankle, especially the Achilles Heel, became thickened and damaged from compensation for the left, and the left developed another hole in it. Aye yai yai! What a disaster. When I saw these wraps online I was intrigued. I did not care about the higher price for several reasons: they were cool looking which is a major plus for me as a 56 yo woman who loves clothes and shoes as much as sports. I had a drawer full of braces and wraps that had already cost me hundreds of dollars, were ugly and did not work. The Bauerfeind braces German made. I grew up half my life in Germany and know the quality of German products. So I ordered a left and right brace and matching compression sleeves for my legs. The sleeves come two to a package 📦 and cost less than the braces The blood clot in my leg after surgery had damaged the muscles and both my legs were and still are prone to ridiculously agonizing and long-lasting shin splint pain and muscle cramps. I wear compression stockings to bed and while I’m doing housework, traveling, and under my fall and winter footwear. The Bauerfeind athletic compression sleeves are terrific for keeping my circulation going during long hours on my jet ski. About 5 years ago my husband retired and we moved to GA after my mom passed and I inherited her house. We live about a mile away from a huge lake and since I had to rehome my horses, we decided to buy jetskis. We ski all summer and will be off-roading all winter. The ankle sleeves are easy to slide over your foot and the wrap parts are simple to figure out. They secure with Velcro. After I put them on I pull the compression sleeves over my legs. When I stand during sking my ankles keep wanting to roll and the wraps help keep them from a complete rollover, although nothing short of an iron boot would totally prevent supination. A lot of energy is sent up through your feet, legs and back when you are hitting wakes and waves at speed while standing. Your legs act as shock absorbers and were it not for my Bauer ankle braces, I’m sure I would be having a third surgery and permanently crippled by now. I highly recommend these braces despite the higher price point if you have tried less expensive ones with no luck. Combined with the matching sport leg support sleeves they are a formidable tool to help you perform better and safer in your favorite sports. I am also going to check if they have wrist supports. I had both wrists fractured as a kid in a horseback wreak, and last year another jet ski rider ran me over. I had a collapsed lung, broken wrist and my back muscles were shredded like pulled pork. I was taken by coding ambulance to the local trauma center. Two days later I got a nice $57K Bill. Haha. That was fast. Having Asthma, Diabetes and Fibromyalgia made recovery about as miserable as it gets. It’s been 15 months since the accident and althoughmy sking has been excellent this year, the injuries have not completely healed. I’m still having wrist problems, and jet sking also places a tremendous amount of stress on your wrists and elbows when you crash down on waves and rough water 💦. So I’m hoping I can find some matching wrist wraps. Remember you get what you pay for. Another thing I like is that these braces are not made of neoprene so they won’t stretch, rot or tear easily. They are a type of woven fabric that goes on like a half-sock, and the wrapping strap is made out of a material that almost looks like plastic. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s comfortable, easy to wrap and does not fray. The Velcro has stayed sticky since I bought them several years ago and does not seem to attract as much lint as most Velcro. Peace ✌🏼, AM

Worth it!
After playing around and adjusting to the perfect, most comfortable fit, I must admire it’s by far the best ankle brace I’ve tried! Offers lots of support and stabilization when dealing with ankle cramps. Offers great pain relief. Quality is superb. Only downside, it’s super pricey.

Comfortable, flexible and yet supportive
This thing was expensive!! BUT- it is always amazing and worth every penny. I’ve been wearing a different type of ankle brace to support my weak foot arch. My ankle is fine- but my podiatrist recommended a brace to help my arch while playing pickleball. I had been wearing a bulky brace that worked well. The problem was it worked so well, my ankle and upper leg were getting sore. I think because they were so immobilized. This brace is very flexible, so my ankle can move, yet is still supported. My leg already feels better, and my arch is still supported.

Great stability but irritated after 6 hours
I work on my feet and needed a flexible support while recovering from an AITF ligament tear/syndesmotic injury. They are meant to be worn UNDER socks so you do need to (hand) wash them often. It felt great and offered great support and mobility, however I noticed after 6 hours of work, it was irritating the skin on my instep area. This is perhaps not meant for all-day use, but for a game or run these would be worth a try.

Expensive but beats a regular brace
I had a grade 3 tear in my ankle ligament & was given a boot to wear for the next 6 months basically. I needed something that provided great support on the lateral side of my ankle, but also gave me flexibility in terms of what I could wear (pants & shoes-wise). This brace has been amazing! I've had it for about 3 months now & wear it everyday. I can wear 95% of my shoes with it being it's quite thin. The compression is outstanding. I will say that the velcro on the strap is starting to loose it's grip, but some of my shoes probably put more wear on it then recommended. I use this to continue exercising during recovery as well, since I cannot just lay around to heal for 9-12 months. It's very light & comfortable, & I can wear it almost all day without noticing it. But know that it may give false confidence if you're using it like me. Sometimes I feel like I'm much better & don't wear it & within 30-60 minutes that ankle will give out. But the thing does the job very well. Bit expensive, but for me it was worth the comfort & flexibility & freedom it gave me.

Feels snug but comfortable. I was hoping for slightly firmer support.
