There are no double walls so there’s no way for food to get “inside the dividers.” They aren’t leak proof so liquids can go under the dividers. **Q: I'd like to have two different looking boxes without having to purchase something with plastic. Any ideas?** A: Why don’t you get some duct tape and decorate the lid **Q: I have the metal lid. Will the plastic cover make it any easier for my preschooler to open?** A: I would think so. I have the metal-only style, and it isn’t the easiest thing to open. The plastic lids look to have places that stick out that you can grip better. Just my opinion. I would choose the plastic lid style if I had a child. Hope this helps! **Q: Is this leakproof? Yes, it sounds like a good bit of money, but given what I've seen and what others have said, these should last them until they graduate, making them not only safer than plastic (better for them and environment) but also very cost effective. I do not know if they are leak proof as I don't put liquids in them. They stand well surrounded by ice packs and because they are steel, keep cold food cold. What I do know is they are very durable, sandwiches and salad parts (tomatoes) don't get squished and they are very easy to clean. I'm recommending them to all who see my feed on social media.REQUEST: I do ask LunchBots to consider making small rectangular sized ones from all stainless steel--both lid and bottom, which are separate just like the UNO. Make these snack size all-stainless steel about 4.5" in length, 2.5" wide, and 2" tall. This size would be perfect for snacks and small veggies such as cut carrots and broccoli crowns, and the rectangular shape would fit better in my kiddos' lunch boxes than the round snack containers. I'm a huge fan of LunchBots for lots of reasons...I have two young girls and we love to go on picnics or have snacks at the park now that the weather is nice again. The size and shape of these Lunchbots are perfect for fitting into the bottom of each of their little backpacks with a water bottle (stainless of course), sunscreen, sunglasses and playthings/books. We have fun filling them with yummy, creative, healthy snacks. One child gets the duo and one gets the trio-usually switching off. Homemade trailmix, peanut butter crackers, ricecakes, edemame, carrot sticks, berries and dried fruit, homemade sweet potato chips, oatmeal bars, etc.Know that they aren't made for liquidy foods ... says "not water tight" on the box. They are perfect for everything else.Tip: If I do something like cheese and crackers and want them separated until we eat them to avoid getting soggy, I stack the crackers in a silicone cupcake liners/baking cups. We have some cute flower ones, but I just ordered square ones specifically for my Lunchbots.I also like the fact that they offer a divided/bento-like set up and it isn't plastic. I recently cleared my kitchen of most plastic containers...why risk it?? These things will last forever!I have a few of the colored top LunchBots also, but I like the look of these very much.I read a review that said there were sharp edges and dents.
