Moss-Rose Purslane Seeds - Portulaca grandiflora - 2K Seeds, 1/4 gram - B79

I like these because they are pretty when it is hot and dry when many of my other flowers in the beds aren’t. I start this in a couple containers, but young sprouts are very small and delicate so I have found it works best to start them in a couple big clumps and then when I am ready to put them in the ground I add as spoonful or so of sprouts to various locations.

Bought in the hundreds and only one sprouted.

I ordered these and I do not have a green thumb, but they were my mother's favorite plant. I couldn't get them to grow. I gave the remainder of the seeds to my sister, that has my mother's green thumb, and she planted them and they are growing so beautiful. So these are awesome.

They like the heat, too, so unless you're starting indoors, wait until the nights are not so cool. I grow these in pots outdoors, and they are glorious. Cannot believe the variety of blooms.

Worked only for 10 days

Portulaca seeds are super tiny and I didn’t realize how many I sprinkled on the soil! The seeds germinated in less than 24 hours thanks to a heat mat and now there must be 100+ tiny fine seedlings coming up. Good fresh viable seed with high germination rate!

Very few of the seeds produced a plant, the flowers are NOT double blooms at all. Very disappointing.
