Great, but.....
Initially, I did not think this product would meet our needs. I am full time caregiver for a Person with ALS (PALS). The product is as advertised, but there are no instructions as to how to use it to its best advantage. An instruction book in five languages comes with it concerning the general use of various types of slings, but not a word about this particular one. If you are unfamiliar with the use of slings, the book will be of no help whatsoever. If you have used slings with lifting devices, you should be able to figure this out on your own. I considered returning it, and called Invacare, (the distributor) for instruction as to how to return the product. Both people I talked to were so considerate and helpful, I opted to keep it and work with it a while longer. You have up to 30 days to decide to return it, and there will be no hassle over it. Some things to watch out for are that it comes in different sizes. My PALS is a male, only 150lbs, and the medium is almost too small. Get the next larger size for your patient. I like that it has a very supportive upper body and head support for dressing. I position my PALS on the bed in the full sling using the lift. Once on the bed, I undo the leg straps and lift the patient by the chest strap high enough off the bed for cleaning up after using the bed pan and pulling his pants up. It has a rubberized mesh panel in the back to keep it from riding up when you lift the patient by the chest strap only; and it comfortably supports his whole upper body. There are a couple of minor negatives: I do not like that there is no Velcro closure on the ends of the padded chest strap to hold it in place while you do up the safety buckle, but I can add that myself. The stays in the head support got bent in packaging, and the head support unfurled like a clam shell. No information provided told me the stays were removable. I discovered that myself; removed them and straightened them out, but I seldom use them. One of the Invacare reps suggested I make an instructional video of how I use it and post it on You-Tube. I really think that should be the distributor's responsibility. All in all, it is a very well made product and should prove satisfactory for the experienced caregiver. Otherwise, call me!

Good product
Easy to put on. Bought this and one much cheaper. Actually like cheaper one best. Little instructions with either one but my husband seems to hang lower in this one sometimes making it more difficult to sit him in a chair by myself. I have finally managed to use this one to lift him from bath seat to complete dressing by hooking middle straps on opposite side and using chest strap. He doesn't look comfortable and I would not have him up long hooked like this. It takes some practice and I reccomend practicing on a family member or friend as they can tell if they are uncomfortable. washed well only complaint is cost.

Amazingly better than...
those slings that just have a hole in them. You can actually potty an elderly incontinent loved one at home without having to transfer them to the bed first. I picked this one out after watching youtubes videos. There are cheaper models that might work as well, but my wife wanted this one that provides full back and head support. We have it working just fine with a Hoyer lift that is not made by Invacare.

works like a charm
This sling is much easier to use since my husband has some mobility. It make transfers from chair to bed much easier. The ability to transfer to the toilet is very helpful.

It is easy to put on and padded enough to be comfortable
Bought this to use with my husband, who has ALS. It is easy to put on and padded enough to be comfortable. It was recommended by our overhead lift installer, who also provided us with a custom made sling. We use the Invacare one exclusively. Even though it is relatively easy to get on and off, I as the caregiver wish this was truly a "shower" sling so I could just leave it on while bathing hubby.

Lifesaver!
Lifesaver! Strong and the material is soft so itโs does not scratch the skin. Highly recommend if you have a loved one who is immobile.
