Useful and affordable portable barometer, Readings correlate with the current NOAA reports for my location seems durable. The black metric numbers are every small and may be difficult to read on the dark grey backgrounds to some with less than perfect vision. The scale lacks number at the extremes. Eg; no low pressure numbers below 980 millibars I use a magnifier to read the millibars on the grey background in poor lighting The inches of mercury numbers are larger

I bought this product despite many negative reviews. The one I bought seems to be working quit well. One thing I noticed and perhaps this may help others is when I took it out of the packaging and read the instructions, such as they are, I tried to adjust the calibration screw on the back it would not move but very little, (talking about the screw) clockwise and the needle on the dial would not move at all. Nor would the needle move if I turned the screw counter clockwise a little either. What I realized was that the screw from the factory was actually seated completely clockwise to its limit. Once I turned the screw counter clockwise all the way to it's stop and then slowly clockwise the needle on the dial began to move and I was able to adjust to the current pressure for my area at the time. Since then the meter has been changing with the current pressure which most days this time of year is very little in my area and seems to be staying with the weather forecast barometer readings. This last weekend I traveled about a 100 miles to a lake to fish and took it with me, when I left home the meter read 30.1, when I arrived at the lake it read 29.8 so it appears to be working well. 29.8 puts the meter in the low end of the great time to fish scale but still managed to catch a few fish.

My older brother's friend said if I move the knob-pointer over to the grey-area, the weather will get nasty in a couple days as the red pointer catches up. Mine doesn't seem to work that way... :^) Just kidding. This is about the size of a hockey puck - 3'1/4"x1'1/4". The rubber-ish 'tire' around it has a good tactile feel, and helps soften the knocks it will get over time. Pleasant to hold. Sits well flat on its' back and looks good on a desk, or bench or wherever it may need to go. I like the 'face' of this, too. Color coded in a way, pleasant to look at. (only downside is - made in china, but then, the price is right and it seems well made and works smoothly)

This thing is junk dont wast your time or money. Very inaccurate. After following all the instructions it still was way off and the slightest little bump and the needle moves alot. Definitely do not recommend it wish I could give it negative stars

Not very accurate. UPDATE; I took the cover off and sprayed some WD40 into it and it seems to work a little better.

So I bought this to keep in my boat and I also bought a $70 one off eBay for the house. The high dollar one I got off eBay I calibrated it probably 15 time and it would not stay calibrate. This one I only calibrated it once and seems to be very accurate ... I found you my have to very lightly tap on the side to make sure the needle will go to the correct reading. I sent the high dollar one back from eBay and I am going to buy another one of these! Update: So I got my second one to keep in the boat. If you read my above comment I am amazed on how accurate these are. I do not right many reviews but this fish barometer deserves 10 stars for its accuracy and value!

Seems close to accurate. Nice compact unit.

My wife bought it for my birthday. I didn’t think it would work but after about a month later it made fishing more lucrative. I have it strapped on my backpack for fishing. I would recommend it
