Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 13.5” Touch-Screen – Intel Core i7-16GB - 512GB Solid State Drive - Matte Black

Recently I had to return my Lenovo laptop for the fifth time and they decided to give me an option to send in my receipt for a full refund of the entire amount of the Lenovo laptop($1000avg).With this news, I got really excited and started shopping for a new laptop!I came across the surface line and decided on the 13" laptop version because it's what I'm used to having over the years. I enjoyed using it but unfortunately, I found the battery life is terrible after about 8 drain tests and not lasting longer than six hours so even amazon told me it's defective and to return it.Just yesterday I decided on ordering the Surface Pro 8 with the keyboard cover and slim pen 2 with two years of accidental protection coverage. I saved a ton with the surface 8 on sale, and a student discount was applied for additional savings. I am super excited to return my surface laptop 4 for the pro 8.The only really disappointing thing is that I had the amazon surface laptop 4 on free financing for $1,920.94 over 12 months, but no accidental protection. The Pro 8 was $2049.00 upfront and comes with the pen, keyboard and 2 years of protection for almost the same price!

Excellent power, style, and, portability for writing and browsing on the go. The backlit keyboard is great. The soft alcantara hand rests are very comfortable, far more than I imagined. Battery life is incredible. The keyboard is the best in this range, it is definitely premium and worth every penny. My only complains are that the space bar is a bit loud if you don't press it closer to the middle and the touch screen isn't very good. I find you often have to press on the screen quite hard or more than once to get it to do what you want. I didn't buy for the touch screen, so it's not something that bothers me, but if that is something you care about then my guess is you'll be frustrated with the performance.

The screen, general built and speaker quality are all top notch, but I just can't stand the very flexible keyboard of this alcantara version. I can't type more than 2 words witout mistakes, I tried the metal version at besbuy before ordering this one from Amazon and it was perfect, I am returning it and will order a full metal version later.

Quick update to Windows 11 once updates downloaded. Very smooth and fast Ryzen CPU. I would have preferred 16GB RAM but works very well with 8GB for what I use it for when traveling. Very light with good finish. Touch screen , keyboard, everything works well so far.
