Thanks Chuck!
I love this book and I think Chuck did a great job putting his ideas together. I like the way he relates modern psychology, acceptance and forgiveness for a deepening of peace, understanding and well being. A very warm and comforting read.

These Seeds Are Worth Planting
The words of Chuck Hillig are like a stainless steel fist in a velvet glove.Out of the thousands of books available in the modern spiritual marketplace, very few books state their message very simply. Even fewer are truly profound. And a very, very tiny fraction of these are both simple and profound. Seeds of the Soul is one of those. After reading Seeds for the Soul, it becomes very apparent how perfect the title is. Reading a phrase or page from the book is easy enough - its clarity is deceptively immediate and refreshing, and it "goes down" very easily. But then . . . the "seed" is "planted." If just a moment or two is taken to really consider and uncover the meaning and implications of these seemingly simple phrases . . . if the words are nourished with just a few drops of real attention and consideration . . . then they soon sprout and blossom with a shining clarity into insights with a truly profound brilliance.Of course, the hard-earned nuggets of wisdom that Chuck is offering are not for everybody. He takes on the Big Questions, and his answers aren't for the timid or faint-of-heart. Some of his statements - about everything from destiny and free choice to God and the purpose and the universe to core delusions at the root of human nature that are the ultimate cause of suffering - aren't necessarily what everyone is talking about at the water cooler nowadays. And the simplicity - one of the best features - can at the same time be potentially hazardous, as any statements and insights all-too-easily risk turning into slogans and "easy answers" ("It's all an illusion!" "Just get rid of your ego!" "Be here now!") which substitute for real understanding.Yet for anyone who is thoughtful, reflective, and hungry for some true gems of insight, Seeds of the Soul is packed full of them . . . and they're just waiting to be planted . . .

I reread this every time I need to kick start my Soul
I first read this about 10 years ago when Chuck was a therapist for the U.S. Navy and I was Director for the Fleet & Family Support Service Center (FFSC) for military Service Members and their families. Chuck brought a depth of insight to his therapy and treatment group sessions that made a dramatic difference in everyone's life who met him. Anyone who can't read this and walk away with a revived spirit of hope in our soul's intent is truly in need of a heavy dose of nutrients for a soul weakened by the imagined burden of self inflicted malaise.I gave a copy of this book to my daughter on her 1st deployment to Iraq which she read cover to cover and told me it gave her the strength of spirit to "get through" 2 separate deployments of 25 months in a war zone as an MP. She thanked me and then presented a copy to her own daughter.I read this book every time I need to kick start my soul when it becomes wearied from the naysayers, haters, and those who have despaired of humanity. It renews my spirit and recharges my soul. Chuck has inspired me to know that I AM the key to my own happiness and that I choose everything that I AM getting. I control my destiny and I control the joy in my life!I have also read his Enlightenment for Beginners, The Way IT Is, and Looking for God. I wish these books were available on Kindle so I could take them with me everywhere I go!

I don't reccomend it.
I thought it would be a great book becouse of the reviews, but my opinion after reading it, is that it isn't.I got very distressed while reading it and I didn't even finish it, I stopped about halfway.Chuck's writing style can be compared to fanatically religious people, it's pushing and distressing. There are some good advices and seeds, but also some very stupid.Far better same kind of book, what I would want to reccomend is Mike Dooley's 'Notes from the Universe', it's impact on reader is positive and uplifting, not distracting and negative.Seeds of the Soul truly made me distressed. I felt like I wasted my 21$.This is pretty harsh text, but that's honestly how I felt about this book.Listen yourself carefully, before you decide to buy any book, don't just rush and buy them. I learned my lesson and I will consider more carefully in the future what to buy and what not.Love and Laugh to everybody's life.

Why do I buy books like these?
Oh yeah, because I enjoy self help books. Well, there are too many books like these. If you haven't decided what God is yet, this book will annoy you. If you are past 30, this book will make you feel like you're sitting in an AA class. It may be good for teens to provoke thought and for that, I would give it 4 stars. For me, I give it 3 stars because it held enough interest to get through most of it. Like all books, there are good parts and blah parts.

Make Room for Seeds
My bookshelf is small. It currently houses about 30 books. All of them have been carefully culled from a long list of reading material that I have had the pleasure (and often displeasure) of reading over the years. And it seems like once a year, at best, a book will come into my possession that speaks to me strongly enough to make room in my permanent collection."Seeds for the Soul", by Chuck Hillig, is one of these books. "Seeds" is filled with short, insightful passages that remind us who and what we truly are. Chuck Hillig did not assemble a 'feel good' spiritual pick-me-up of a book with "Seeds". Instead, he takes you by the hand, and leads you to a place where you can look reality square in the face. It's not a story you read, it's more like a good friend cutting through the confusion to simply share Truth. It's like the Bhagavad-Gita on Ritalin. This book gives me the urge to clear off my bookshelf completely and leave room only for it. No, on second thought, this is not a book that will end up on my bookshelf. It's one that I will keep handy at all times.
