American Educational 3005B Fossil Starter Bag

This is a nice starter kit. The set of fossils was literally in a plastic bag with the folded chart. The fossils were a little banged around and the chart was a bit wrinkled. It wasn't an overly impressive delivery, but was certainly a great set for the price. I bought it for my 8 year old son who wanted to study fossils. He loved it. He used the guide as a starting point to find out more about each numbered fossil.. He debated gluing each fossil onto cardboard for longevity, but ended up using a divided box to store them instead. The seller was wonderful..quick and efficient. I purchased the fossil set along with the Aliki book, "Fossils Tell of Long Ago". I would recommend both.

I am very impressed with this product for the price I paid for it. None of the pieces are amazing, but it's a really nice set for $14.00. Each piece is individually labeled with a number; you look the number up on the sheet and it tells you some basic info about it (location found, name, era). My son and I handled all of the pieces and studied them for our fossil unit. All the labels are still firmly attached. The color sheet they send with it is okay - nothing spectacular, but a little informative. Overall, well worth $14.00. An excellent kit.

I bought this to use with my Girl Scouts. The fossils are small, about the size of a half dollar or quarter. However, the girls love it. I pull them out and put them on a table with about four small magnifying glasses. They love to examine the fossils while we are waiting for everyone to arrive. The enclosed poster lists what all the different fossils are by number. I've used this twice, and it was a hit both times.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my niece who loves this kind of stuff. It came packaged in a ziplock type bag, so don't expect a nice box or anything to wrap or store it in, just a bag. Also, the fossils were smaller than I thought they would be, but my niece loved them. She loved the chart too. I guess that is what matters.

This is a nice little bag of fossils. They were smaller than I expected but will be put to good use in my classroom. I was a little disappointed that all of them came in only 1 bag. A couple were in individual bags but it would have made more sense to put each in a small individual bag. However I am pleased with this purchase. It was a good deal for only $14.

This was a birthday gift for my son and he really loves it and can spend hours examining the fossils. Not to mention, he thinks it is really cool to have fossils from when the dinosaurs were around (none are actually from dinosaurs, just from the time). Definitely worth the price.

Interesting pieces as pictured. Adequately sized. Good learning materials for middle-schooler. Grandson said he likes looking at them under his telescope.

It is difficult to buy a small gift for a 13 year old, but my grandson like these. The packaging lacks appeal, but the purpose is well intentioned.
