Wonderful book about the diverse practices of Diwali!
This book is awesome! It uses the backdrop of a show and tell at school to discuss the Diwali traditions and stories of Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu and Jain children in the class. In doing so, it also subtley raises the issue of being nervous to share your own cultural differences, and how wonderful it feels to find similarities and celebrate our differences with others. I also love that characters who aren't of Indian descent are named and featured in the book-- their teacher, Miss Lo, and their friends Anna and Jordan. As with all of the Bharat Babies books, the illustrations are beautiful, the stories are engaging and the characters are highly relatable.

Amazing Book!
I love reading "Let's Celebrate Diwali" to my two year old. We both love the bright and colorful illustrations and also meeting all the wonderful Bharat Babies characters like Harini, Amrit and Dhimen! It's such a wonderful way to introduce your little ones to how Diwali is celebrated. This is a great book to take into a classroom to teach young children about diversity. I thought they did a great job explaining how Diwali l is celebrated by sub sects of the Hindu community and other religions in India- it was very informative for me too! I love that they also include a glossary and pronunciation guide for non-Indian readers so they can get a better understanding about all the different words. Overall I would highly recommend you adding this book to your children's library!

An entertaining and educational read
My 2-year-old daughter and I absolutely love reading Let's Celebrate Diwali together! Not only is it entertaining and full of gorgeous photos, it has been incredibly educational for both of us. We have learned so much about Diwali and Indian heritage from it -- and the pronunciation guide at the back is immensely helpful. I would recommend this to anyone to add to their child's library, regardless of your religious or cultural background.

The illustrations are beautiful - bright
My 3.5 year old and I live reading this book together. The illustrations are beautiful - bright, fun, and engaging. The story tells of the different Diwali traditions in different religious groups, in a way that is accessible for young children. I am always looking to add more diversity to my daughter's bookshelf and this has been a wonderful addition to our collection!

Such a great book to add to our diverse book collection learning and celebrating different cultures and traditions! This book shows a class show-and-tell where various students of South East Asian descent share about the different ways their families celebrate Diwali. We learned so much and the kids are totally relatable. Loved by our preschoolers.

Beautifully illustrated intro to multi-culturalism for <5yrs
My nephew (3 years old) adores this book and often insists on having it read aloud while his younger brother (1 yr) loves the pictures. It makes a great visiting/holiday gift and I love the multi-cultural understanding it promotes. Great conversation starter about families who celebrate different holidays than we do and how we can all learn to celebrate these together.
