Expensive but saves so much time - also very fun to use!
I bought a KJ Classic here through Amazon - after my first couple cooks I decided that trying to start a fire with the little starter cubes they have kind of sucked! One moderately windy day I wasn't able to get it started at all! Frustrating when you've got meat that's been dry brined and is ready to roll. So I wanted something that was fool proof. Enter the Grill Blazer Su-V Gun! Now a gun that shoots fire at 240,000 BTUs is a little intimidating. I have kids and don't want to set myself (or my house) on fire, so I made sure to watch all the boring safety videos to ensure that I was minimizing my risk of all that. If you're going to get this I'd say watch the videos. I am glad I did, if anything just to get the full picture on how to use this thing. I bought two 1lb propane tanks at Ace and attached one to the gun and gave it a go lighting some lump charcoal. This thing is POWERFUL. I had the propane on the minimum flow setting, it fired right up. Did a test blast and it was pretty intense! But also empowering in a weird way. Anyways, I used it to light my charcoal and in 30 seconds I had smoldering charcoal. This would've probably taken like 5-10 minutes with the old fire starter cubes that are currently sitting in a cabinet somewhere. And it takes the variables out when you can just blast fire directly onto the charcoal to ensure they are lit properly. This thing is expensive. I did wonder if there's a cheaper option out there but it seems to be built well. I've used it a handful of times so I can't speak to the longevity of this. I'll be very disappointed if this doesn't last me for years to come. I assume part of that is how it's maintained - I'm pretty careful about using it and storing it safely, so I hope that'll contribute to its long-term durability. In short, if you decide that the cost is worth saving the time it takes to light your charcoal every time you want to grill or smoke anything, this thing is a winner. I've been happy so far as it helps me take that variable out of the whole equation. It's fun to use, a bit scary, but responsible use of this thing is paramount! If you get it (which I would recommend), watch some safety videos, be careful, and enjoy!

A real man's grill starter
I used to have a little wimpy propane hand torch (like for creme brulee). This big blow torch is SO much better. More power!!!! We're going to need a bigger boat!!!!! This is like military grade. Will start anything on fire!!!!! A great purchase, just wish I bought it years ago.

Awesome for searing meats
I got this to add a sear to meats after sous vide. It takes a little getting used to, but it works well. Might sound dumb, but the flame is extremely hot so you need to make sure not to hold it too close to the food. It's a little pricey for what it is, but it's definitely the most BA/ fun way to add a sear. Based on the picture, I tried connected the gas tank directly to the product, but it would intermittently stop. I ended up buying a 3 foot hose to use in between as a connector and it works much better so I would recommend doing that as well.

Cheaply made, low accountability, Buy it if you only need it short term
Buyer's Remorse about a year later... Yes the grill blazer puts out a lot of fire and starts charcoal quickly. I have used it to light my big green egg, and snow peak charcoal grill. The quality control, and workmanship on this $250 "tool" is on par with my 2 year old son's toys from target. nearly entirely made from inexpensive plastics, and the pieces that are metal are of very low quality materials. Ask me how i know: The gaskets don't properly seal, leaking gas; often and the unit does not properly de-pressurize even after leaving it for hours in the add on purchased stand before removing the propane tank. Resulting in an aggressive gas explosion from the tank and connector every time (which can be embarassing in front of friends and family). The brass nipple which connects to the propane receiver and it's matching washer and gasket come off still connected to the propane tank nearly every time and mine eventually snapped off still lodged into the unit. I have broken down the unit to repair, and the innards are a true statement of low grade, poorly engineered, poorly assembled, poor quality materials. When reaching out to this amazon seller for assistance, I was told to reach out to the manufacturer and the service case was closed prior to even answering my questions. When reaching out to the manufacturer, I was told I would need to pay $35 plus $15 shipping for them to fix this manufacturer error. At this price point I would expect real quality. Have you ever seen or used the pepper cannon? what a good example of a quality piece that matches the premium price by performance, design, and quality of materials. Overall a poor purchase of a high cost, marketing hyped, turn and burn product with low to no accountability from the manufacturer and seller.

Expensive? Yes. Worth it? ABSOLUTELY!!
HOLLLLLLLLY BISCUITS!!! This thing should be painted gray and have a US NAVY Fighter wing logo on it somewhere!! This thing is like a F16 with an afterburner! Ok seriously.... It is expensive, BUT, it is extremely well built and definitely generates some serious heat. Despite its length - which keeps the Jet Blast away from your hands - you will still want gloves. Its adjustable, but when you squeeze the hand grip, it literally goes int after-after burner. Its imperssise and the quality feel like it will last. it WILL lite your grill in a matter of seconds... And yes, ABSOLUTELY Watch the short instruction video. (Your Grill Gun is NOT defecetive! ) 5 Stars - Easily. (I still think this thing is built by Lockheed or Gramman! :) )

Expensive, yes. Worth it, yes
Works well. Seared the steak alot faster than running up a charcoal or pellet grill. For a true steak lover, it was worth it.

Impress the ladies and fight zombies in style
I was hesitant spending a seemingly exorbitant amount of money on this gadget, when arguably a box of matches and an old newspaper would perform the same function. However, in a late night drunken Amazon buying spree I ordered one, and let me tell you, it is worth the expense. The Grillblazer GrillGun will fulfil many roles in your life, some you may not have even considered essential before owning one. Yes, it is excellent at starting a BBQ fire in an unnecessarily short and spectacular fashion. However it also serves as a weapon of choice for the inevitable zombie apocalypse, and in the immediate term, I suggest you add photos of you using it to your Tinder profile to impress the gender of your choice. I suspect the peacocking display of 'mastery of fire' triggers something primal in our psychology, leading to more swipe right action. That is my current theory, I'll continue the experiments with the Grillblazer GrillGun for more insights into evolutionary psychology. Expensive and unnecessary toy, arguably yes. But can you really live without a multi function Swipe-Right-BBQ-Zombie flamethrower in your life? I know I can't.

Amazing!!
This might have won me wife of the year 😂 My husband wanted this so bad but wouldn’t but it for himself so I got it for Christmas for him. This thing is epic! Works amazing for a torch for the grilling needs he wanted it for but it’s fun aswell. It combines two of his favour things…guns and fire. High quality and easy to use. Shipping was super fast. Definitely recommend for the “cook” in your family.

Grill gun
This piece of equipment is amazing. Not knowing what to expect but for the price I was assuming it would be good, and I’m not disappointed. The grill gun has replaced any fire lighter I have and it is so fast at getting charcoal ready for cooking. Keep well away from children as it is a serious piece of kit. Most of all watch the instructional videos and use with care. Very pleased with my purchase.
