Why did it take me so long to pick up this series!?!?
So I picked up the complete boxset during the audible sale a couple weeks back and I decided to randomly listen starting last week and I haven't been able to stop haha. I am hooked and am going to be checking out other books by this author, down the rabbit hole I go!!I really enjoyed the story build-up in this series. I won't give too much away since I am already on book 3 of the trilogy, but I am loving these characters, the world that the author created and really took the time to mold and shape. So much effort was put into this series, and you can really tell. Fabulous job all around, I know I am going to have a massive book hangover when I am done 😭.In terms of the story, the stage is set for Evelyn and how she comes to this academy with humans, variants, and vitals. We know she is not all she seems and we get to learn throughout book 1 why things have been happening for her, the attraction and instant chemistry she feels with some of the guys on campus. Not everyone is as they seem, and some have a large character arc to get through, but the author navigates it so well we are super happy for the journey, even if its a slower burn RH story. The plot and character development are paced so well, it makes sense the romance/sexy scenes would wait for later in the trilogy. I absolutely love the guys, I definitely wanted to shake Tyler more than I wanted Alec, which is surprising because of how Alec treats everyone. But if you really think about it, Alec has a reason he is so guarded, his abilities have really socially isolated him and caused him to put up this huge wall and act like the bad boy who hates everyone and will hurt you on a dime. Tyler is so calculating though, he should know better how he treated Evelyn and how wishy-washy he was. Josh and Ethan are so adorable and I want some of them in my life, a girl can dream 🤣.The side characters are great in this world too. The reds were awesome, the ending of the book was devastating. I enjoyed Dot and Charlie's antics and Dot's little friends haha. A lot of the emotions and side plots with the academy and bullying aspect from some of the side female characters were very genuine I thought, a good touch of cattiness that added to the other angst Evelyn had to sometimes go through with how she was treated.I was happy to see some cohesion starting with the group, but they have a long way to go. I was surprised actually how long this book was. There was a moment in this story that could have been a good cliffy but it wasn't, we got the big fight scene and sad moment and cliffhanger with a different scene which I definitely appreciated. These books are so juicy with action, romance, humor, and amazing world-building, I couldn't get enough. On top of that, the narration was fabulously done. I love duet narration and this one was performed really well. I am going to check out these narrators on other stories, that's for sure. No complaints or constructive feedback from me, it was a pleasure to listen to these performances. They really brought the characters to life and helped immerse me in this world.5/5 stars easily from me, on to writing book 2's review while I am listening to the start of book 3 🤣

Refreshing and impressive debut
This is the story of Eve who've been running her whole life because her mum told her someone scary were after them. But when her mum dies in a terrible plane crash, leaving Eve as the sole survivor, her life changes forever. Less than a year after, she is suddenly offered a full scholarship to Bradford, the most prestigious school in the country for Variants, those 18% of the population who have supernatural abilities and who Eve have had an overwhelming fascination with. But things are not what they seem and she soon finds herself drawn to four men, her two handsome classmates Ethan and Josh, her unobtainable tutor Tyler and the mystery man who saved her life after the plane crash, Alec, who she's been searching desperately for ever since. They all make her skin tingle and she can't seem to stay away, even though not all of them are willing to give her the time of day. But somehow, they are connected to each other and their destinies intertwined.Even though this story might sound a lot like something you've read before, it's still very unique and surprisingly different, in the best way. There are all those tiny little details that make the characters feel more real than what I've seen in any of the many similar stories I've read, and I really like how the author has taken her time to let the characters develop naturally, not holding on to the usual, expectant tropes. To think that this is her debut novel only makes it so much more impressive. The story is well written, well thought out and there are next to no grammatical errors, which is a luxury not often come across with indie authors. The audiobook is just as impressive with dual narration and sound effects. The female narrator is perfect. However, the male is sadly casted badly. He sounds like a mixture between a fifty year old man and an annoying announcement speaker. He doesn't fit the male characters at all as they're at most in the mid to late twenties. Such a shame because otherwise it would be a perfect narrative version. The story is told primarily by Ece though, so it's only the male characters dialogue that falls short. All in all, I'm definitely carrying on with this series, and I'm gonna keep an eye out for this author in the future because she is incredibly talented.

Finally! Something awesome!
I love finding that latest badass series. You know the ones, where you can't put down a good book and then you convince all your girlfriends to read it after you've devoured it twenty more times! For weeks, I've been in book limbo and I've been searching for a decent read.See, I'm picky. I nitpick, cannot stand grammatical errors, and I'm not ashamed to say that I've quit on a book from being bored more than I can count. However, when I saw another author raving about this book, I clicked on the pre-order, hoping it was as good as they said, and completely forgot about it.When it finally popped up in my kindle library, I braced myself for this never ending bout of disappointment and began reading. It was... amazing! The authors style of writing is really good and kept me hooked. The plot is strong with some powerful scenes, and I instantly connected with each character as they're introduced. The reverse harem aspect is different - which I loved - as it isn't just some girl jumping straight into bed with several men. Each guy is unique and seem to fit the MC perfectly, in their own way.I'm very excited to see what happens in book two. This author has now made it onto my "Keeping Watch" list.Thank you for your creativity!I would recommend to anyone who just wants to settle down with an actual good book!

A Captivating Paranormal Romance
Eve has been on the run with her Mum all her life, never staying in one place for too long, until one day they are in a plane crash and Eve is one of the only survivors. She receives an invite to Bradford Hills, an exclusive school that hosts both Variants and humans and she takes it.There she starts to feel like she finally belongs.Eve starts to feel a connection to Tyler, Ethan, Josh and Alec, four variants with unique abilities.I really enjoyed the start to this series. I was instantly drawn in to this world and enjoyed learning about all the different abilities. Eve is a great character and has craved friendships and connections her whole life. I really like Josh and Ethan, they are really fun and lively. Tyler is still distant with Eve, but he cares for her a lot. Alec drives me crazy, and I hate how he dismisses her a lot. After that crazy ending I can't wait to dive into book 2.

Not for me
I still can't wrap my head around this. All her mother ever did was hide her, all her life, but as soon as she's out of the picture Eve starts doing everything she was trained not to. Eve is supposedly very smart but all I got here was TSTL. If the tables were turned and a male character had behaved the way she did with her stalking I'm sure the reviews would have been unapologetic. Red flags here.I stopped at 50% because I was just getting annoyed, read a whole other book and decided to come back and try finish this. Nope, it just kept getting more ridiculous. This book should just be a Y\A it most definitely reads like it was written for a young audience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A favourite series of mine. Love reading it. Doesn't matter how many time iv gone through a reread it never gets old. I love Taylor, he may very well be a favourite of mine and Alec, even though he definitely needed a better attitude towards Eve.. Ethan and Josh are so sweet that it's really hard not to love them from the start!.. Eve is fantastic and I love that she is strong, smart and capable of handling the world of Varients after thinking she was human most of her life. Even the side characters are brilliant.. fantastic series!.

Couldn’t put it down
This is the debut novel from Kaydence Snow. Sometimes, that means there are teething problems - editing issues, inconsistent style, pacing the story, obvious inexperience. Honestly, there was none of that here. After reading this, I was shocked that this was a debut novel.I found this novel to be fantastically entertaining. The story was gripping and pulled you in from the start; I was totally absorbed by the book and I couldn’t put it down. It was well-paced, exciting at the right times and never dragged. The main character finds herself in a situation that you can’t help but feel for her, and then ends up trying to navigate a world she doesn’t know much about. She is put through the ringer, and the guys are a bit of a mixed bag. It’s not all insta-love in this book, or so it seems. I have my theories for future books. The point is, it really adds to the story that it doesn’t all click at the start, even if you end up wanting to wring some necks. The author is so good about evoking the right emotion, so you feel what Eve feels - worry, fear, angst, embarrassment, butterflies, lust. And there’s a twist at the end! I did not see it coming. I am so looking forward to book 2when it comes out. This is definitely an author who has started out on the right foot.
