Enjoyable easy read!
Written in an easy read, humorous voice that makes it easy to connect with the writer. A fab story about the journey many have taken and how it feels in the moment. And for anyone yet to take on the challenge is a great way to set wheels into motion (see what I said there!) To plan a fab experience. Really connected with Paul's thoughts along his journey from end to end and reminisced about all those common emotions.Fab works! A great read for anyone wanting to take on the challenge!

Fun, Witty and Informative
I read your wonderful book from cover to cover the day it arrived as I couldn't put it down. It's a brilliant read full of your great stories. I even enjoyed part 2 although we are not planning any cycle rides in the future mainly due to health reasons. I would thoroughly recommend your book to anyone (including non-cyclists). Dave is in the process of reading it now. Well done. Here's looking forward to the next one xx

Witty and informative
Very easy read, with good detail and information of doing the "end to end" challenge. I did feel for the "support crew" and their lack of mention from yorks to near the end. Well done ladies!I've been keen to ride it for several years, but last year 2020-Covid, this year a ruptured quadriceps tendon!I think the route was very brave, even 14 years ago. I plan to use as much "Sustrans" as possible and to take a lot longer, so as to have time to discover different areas along the way. An inspirational and enjoyable read, thanks Paul

Half a book
The half about the actual ride was well written and interesting. Then I got to the end of that and felt cheated that unless I was thinking of doing the trip half of the book was of no interest to me at all.what a let down...

Really engaging with lots of useful hints when planning long cycle rides
Having completed LEJOG in 2011 and having read this excellent book I could empathise with events on every page. If you are contemplating doing this epic journey then this book is a must. Added to that you get a really feeling of actually being on the journey with Paul and the crew.

Fantastically well written book
This book is a great read for any keen cyclist that already enjoys, or harbours desires, to embark on a multi-day cycle ride. So well written it makes the journey sound very do-able to the average cyclist!

a must read
I have read many cycling adventure books and put a few aside as I struggle through them but Paul's account of his trip is up there with the best. Very informative, humorous, well written but most of all, in my view, a genuine nice bloke on his bike doing what we all dream of.It is the genre, "I could not put it down until I finished". Look forward to the next one Paul.

Definitely a book of two halves
Whilst the first third of this book is the amusing anecdote promised, I was disappointed that the rest of the pages are dedicated to a ‘helpful’ checklist of suggestions should the reader ever contemplate such a journey. Great idea but misses the mark and makes half the book redundant in my opinion.
