My PS4 had stopped reading discs. As I knew a little about electronics and felt comfortable tearing PC’s apart and putting them back together. I figured I could save myself some money and do it myself. After watching numerous videos and tutorials on YouTube and the net. I will say this if you see a video that shows them taking the power supply out of the PS4 then stop watching. You can remove the drive without touching the power supply so don’t do things you don’t need to do. The kit works perfect and was easy to install. You will need the rubber dampers from the four corners of your existing unit to put in the new one. (You’ll know what I’m talking about when you get there.) This kit has almost everything you will need to get the job done the only thing I used from my own kits was a pair of tweezers for the ribbon cables and a pair of longnose pliers for some cable pulling. The only thing I will say is the security bit that removes the back screws seems a tad small although it will still work. So would I recommend this? Well that depends on you. Are you the kind of person that is comfortable taking things apart and putting them back together? If you are then this would be the cheaper option and probably the best for you. If you are less comfortable but think that removing a few screws is just about all you can manage. Then probably the all in one drive that has the full housing and PCB board might be a better fit. Although if you are going for this option then do note you will need to swap the PCB board around and that will be a bit fiddly. Whatever you chose to do enjoy the ride and learning new stuff. Also as an added last bit make sure you are buying the right thing for your model of PS4. Mine was CUH-1003A.
