JavaScript for InDesign: An InDesignSecrets Guide

It's decent but it's not great
This book is more for people that already have a pretty solid foundation in javascript and want to have a quick read about some of the things specific to InDesign. There are a few good examples of useful scripts like kerning between characters, and added shortcuts, but this doesn't really touch upon anything related to saving, exporting, placing, updating a table of contents...Also, considering this is a printed book about advanced InDesign practices, it's strange that there are highlighted links leftover from the ebook that don't show the URL.

Excellent book
A great little book written in clear prose by a very knowledgeable author. Highly recommended for beginners. As a long-time AppleScript user, I will say this: Sometimes when he describes what a line of JavaScript does in InDesign, his descriptive text is eerily similar to how the same line would be written in AppleScript. :-)

no substance
A lot of words with very little usefulness.
