Expensive but delicious
This is really good brown sweet rice. If you don’t have time to soak it, it’s still delicious. I originally posted a review about it being too expensive but then I saw that the price changed back, so I’m retracting. This rice is rather costly but worth it as long as it stays under $20.

Tasty!! Delicious Sweet Brown Rice
I always loved another brand's sweet brown rice. Now their prices are through the roof. So I was glad to find this. Although still way too expensive, it's the best I've found. Being a vegan, it's hard for me to find sweet, chewy* good tasting brown rice.(*chewy if we use less water than everyone tells us to use.)Although their video showed several tools and steps to open the big plastic container, mine was very easy to open! I used a screwdriver under the lid. I pushed it all around the bottom of the lid, pulling out. It popped out easily.I put into recycled one pint glass jars. Then into the freezer. I always freeze brown rice to last longer.I keep reading we are supposed to soak for a couple of hours. Sometimes I don't plan ahead and forget. I just rinse 2 cups (full bottle) several times. Then add 3 cups of water. Cover. Boil. Turn off. Come back 20 minutes or so later. All done. Easy peasy!Sometimes I freeze some. Sometimes I just live on it for a few days. Good stuff!

Yummy but received a damaged package
The rice is delicious, but it wasn't shipped properly so the package was damaged and a good amount spilled out. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.

Chewy and Sticky
Many Asian cusines have their versions of sticky rice, this appears to be the short grain Japanese variety used for mochi. Altho my day to day staple is medium grain brown, occasional diversions to brown jasmine, brown basmati, or this brown short grain complement different ethnic cuisine entrees.Altho this sweet brown rice is different from the Japanese sushi variety, my favorite use is for bite size nori wraps or roll ups. This Shirakiku brand is grown in the USA and delightfully fresh tasting.

Unique taste but really good. Not actually "sweet". Needs 2 hr soak for prep.
I had never had sweet brown rice but I like all rices so I wanted to give this a try. I was unaware until I looked on the back for cooking directions that these require a 2 hour soak before they can be cooked. But after they've soaked it pretty easy to cook. I wasn't prepared for this the first time but after I figured out what I needed to do it wasn't a big deal the next time.So this rice tastes amazing but it's not sweet even though it has "sweet" in the name. It came out almost creamy and has a nutty like flavor that's great with any kind of meat. This bag is huge at 5lbs and for the money I think it's a good value, especially because this rice taste so good.

Delicious!
I used my Zojirushi to cook it. Unlike the packaging, I just put the rinsed rice in the cooker with water and turned it on “sweet” mode. I used 1:1.25, and it turned out perfect. Plus you get fiber!!
