Cannot Reccomend
I bought 3 place settings of the 20 piece Portola gold flatware in order to have enough settings for 12 people. I first used the flatware at Thanksgiving and washed according to the flatware box instructions. When I was putting the flatware away, I noticed that the gold finish had greatly diminished (see photos). Lenox advertises a lifetime warranty on the box, so I called the company. The customer service rep asked if I used pods in the dishwasher, as they can effect the finish. I did not, as I use cascade powder. She offered to replace one of the 3 boxes. I now have one good set, and 2 sets that do not match with it, making it impossible to use at a large setting. At Christmas, I used an older gold flatware set that I purchased from west elm and have had for years. The last photo shows a picture of the west elm flatware next to the Lenox flatware. I cannot recommend purchasing the Lenox Portola flatware. Although it is heavy and sturdy, the finish comes off very easily and the company did not stand behind their lifetime warranty. At the price point of the flatware, the finish should hold up better and the company should include very detailed instructions on what types of detergents to use (if they recommend against using pods, that should be listed on the box.)

Pretty at first -finish rubs off
If the gold stayed on I would give these 5 stars. Durable, beautiful, but the finish rubs off.

Expensive
Very pretty but over priced when compared to their other food ware.

TURNED SILVER! after a short time
I loved everything about these until the finish disappeared and now I have a drawer of half silver half-gold silverware! AND I ordered three sets so I would have a 12-piece set. Such a disappointment as I always treated them correctly.

Nana returned
I bought these because they were gold and I wanted these to use with my Lenox Christmas dishes. I have several sets of Lenox China and flatware (my everyday flatware is Lenox), but when I took the first set out of the box the gold had already rubbed off some of the utensils. I was so disappointed and knew that I’d have a fourth set of silver after a few washings. So I sent them back.

Rusts
I really had high hopes for this flatware. However, they rusted the first time I washed them in the dishwasher. I washed them separately from other metals and let them dry on dry setting. I threw out the packaging and can't return them. The only thing I can do now is wash by hand and thoroughly dry right away.I do not recommend.

Gold finish wears off
I purchased 2 sets of this flatware and after only 4 months of normal use the gold finish has come off. I have contacted Lenox for replacements and have received the replacements but 2 of the salad forks that came are different shades of gold. Waiting to get another replacement. Customer service is good. Needed to send in pictures of the damaged pieces. Apparently they have a lifetime replacement policy but is this going to be an ongoing problem with all of the flatware.

Update: Beautiful Flatware
I love this flatware and am using it for our everyday use. However, I have noticed the finish is already starting to fade on a few of the spoons which is disappointing. Overall, I would still recommend.Update: Do not recommend. The gold finish competently faded and I need have basic silverware.
