You can probably put boiling water in it, but I wouldn't try to boil water in it using a heat source such as a stove. It is a bad idea. Boil the water in a really safe container and then if you need to pour it into this bottle, do it with care and leave the top a little loose.

Great question! It is a solid aluminum, so it's not a squeeze bottle. You just tip it upside down and drink from the sport top if you want or the wide mouth opening.
