PentairScreenlogic2 EC-522104 Interface and Wireless Connection Kit

I love this kit. Costs the same as the pool side remote replacement, but it is so much more convenient. The bulky and wonky remote died and using this is such a relief. Setup is a breeze if you can use a screw driver. Everyone in the family can operate pool features now using their phones and don’t have to replace batteries each month.Make sure you understand that this kit must plug into an Ethernet switch or router in your house. It is not a Wi-Fi enabled tool. The wireless communication between the EasyTouch controller and the transceiver in your house is proprietary to Pentair. The included protocol controller needs to plug into your home network This is the only downside for this kit.You would have to upgrade the pool controller to IntelliCenter to utilize your Wi-Fi network directly.

I have to admit I thought the install would be harder. This really is an easy install. Especially if you are just upgrading from the physical remote. I had the remote and it died. DO NOT BUY A REPLACEMENT! This is the same price and way better. All you do is disconnect the old antennae. Replace with the one in the box. Then connect the indoor antennae to your home network. Done!I took away a star because the interface is kludgy and the parts are like leftovers from a college engineering lab. However, the system does just work!One warning, the manual does a terrible job about setting up the remote access. To do it just connect the device to your network, download the config app NOT THE CONNECT APP, login via your wifi, set the remote access password, save it, and then write down the 6 digit code for you unit. It's the one that appears in the app in the form XX-XX-XX. Then disconnect from the wifi, load the connector app, and add a remote server. You'll enter the 6 digit code and the password you had set. Then it works. Easy peezy and no port forwarding needed.

Works like a charm. Way overpriced for what it is, but it’s the only option for phone control .

Came as shown and so far works good

After a short time away from home left my pool to suffer due to a simple error I really wanted to add the capability to control and monitor my Pentair pool devices via the internet. The instructions for installation of the devices were not as helpful as they easily could have been. I had to turn to watching the few YouTube videos on the system to figure things out for my self.The ScreenLogic Connect app for Android is also buggy and overall poorly designed which leads to a disappointing experience.Overall the system is very overly priced for what you get but there is no alternative manufacture that provides the same capability to an existing Pentair system so you are stuck with paying up if you want the capabilities offered by this system. (Having a monopoly on technology is never good for the consumer.)

If you are replacing the old wireless remote with this it will take you all of 15 minutes to install this. I was able to use the existing wire to the old antenna 4 fires hooked up same order and plug the other end into power and my router in the house. the only issue was configuring the remote access they made that very unclear but i figured it out.

Bought this and only worked one day! Not good value for the money.
