With our wine consumption tapering off as we get older, I found this product that allows us to open a bottle of wine and not feel obliged to finish the whole bottle or trying to re-cork it and save it for another day. This was such a good product I bought one for my daughter, whose husband doesn't drink wine and again this lets her enjoy a glass or two at here convenience.

I opened my first bottle two weeks ago, and it still tastes fresh and smooth. It’s a Zin, which are pretty sensitive to oxidation. After the first week I could just tell the difference between it and a freshly opened bottle, but the older bottle had more sprightly flavor. This system is clearly superior to the VacuVin one, which I have used for many years.A couple of tips, though I have not tested them. The main way for oxygen to get in is when first opening, so I push the button and purge oxygen with the bottle upright after first insertion of the argon pump. Also, I rinse any wine from the pump with tap water after each use to avoid infection the next time it’s used.Update 24feb24: Both stoppers got almost inextricably stuck in their bottles. I had to use slip-joint pliers to pull them out, though they seem very sturdy and I don't think I damaged them. The solution seems to be slight lubrication with food-grade silicone grease. I used Dow Corning 111. Now the stoppers pull out as expected when the bottle is empty.
