My Shins Exclaim: "Hallelujah"
I play in an adult soccer league comprised of former high school -- and a few college -- players. It's a competitive outlet for everybody, and even though we'll usually grab a beer afterwards, the games can get intense. While the league stops short of requiring players to wear shin guards, the overwhelming majority of us wear them. When I signed up to be my team's goalkeeper and started researching shin guards, I had four priorities:1) Protection: Will these shin guards protect me from major kicks and blows to my shin?2) Coverage Area: Do they cover enough of the vulnerable area of my shin?3) Stay in Place: Are they going to slip & slide around whenever I slide -- or tackle? Or will they remain in place throughout the game?4) Unobtrusive: Are these guards sleek and ergonomic enough so that they won't interfere with my movement? The Nike Mercurial Lite Shin Pads seemed quite popular and highly regarded, so I gave them a try. I'm glad I did. They have protected me from some extremely harsh blows to the shin whenever I've run out to challenge streaking forwards. Additionally, the fabric sleeves with which they're used keep the guards securely in place -- even after the nastiest slide tackle. (See attached pictures.) That way I'm not having to constantly readjust them throughout the game. (Once you slide the guards into the sleeves, you simply cover them up with your regular soccer sock.) The guards are also ergonomic, fitting the contours of my shin almost perfectly. In that way, they provide great coverage where it's needed, without wasting added bulk in places where it's not necessary. One guard is specifically designed for the contours of the right shin, while the other is designed for the left shin. Most shin guards don't even bother with a separate design for each side. (Again, feel free to see attached pictures.)As for sizing, I am 6'1 & 185 lbs, and the XL fit me perfectly.Having used several pairs of shin guards over the years, I can say that these are my all-time favorite.

comfortable, and durable
Use these all the time. They are light, comfortable, and durable. They were, however, quite expensive, but definitely worth the cost. They allow more mobility and less interference than shinguards with the bulky ankle protection. They also fit perfectly and feel great on skin. However, if you are more interested in protection of your entire shin, these are not the shinguards for you since they only cover about 5/8 of my shin (I bought the medium size and am 5'5").

Lightweight, strong, perfect fit !
These shinguards are wonderful! Lightweight, strong, and they fit perfectly. I am 5'4" and ordered the medium, the sizing guidelines worked well. The color is nice as well, although you won't see it under your socks. The weight is the biggest difference I can see with my old shinguards to these, and although you will sweat in them - it is no different than other shinguards, and they do not hold the heat in. I play 2-3 times a week in an adult co-ed league, and I highly recommend these shinguards.

Nice shin guards
Really liked these shin guards. However, these are NOT meant for larger teenagers or adults. Our 15 year old had to get the XL in order for them to fit. They were sized as 5'11 - 6'7 and he's between 5'10 and 5'11. If he was taller I have no doubt we would have had to return them. Good quality, just be aware that these are more in line for children and young teens.

Very comfortable to wear
Moved to these from strap on shin pads and realized what I have been missing out on. These are light weight and non obstructive. Very comfortable to wear. I got hit a couple of times on shin when I had these on and these held up pretty well. Impressed with the product.

Runs small
I read the reviews and estimated that my 8 year son would be an XS in these, I was wrong, these are rather small and I’ll probably have to buy new ones before Christmas, it’s a shame because they are not cheap. But over all I love the design feel and over all look of these, he seems fine with them and uses them with the included sleeve, they're better than the other ones he used to wear that would chaff his legs.

Comfortable, light, small
These are hard, light and small. Very comfortable. They don't move much at all under the sleeve they come with and a good pair of hockey socks. I don't have much experience with other shin-guards, but these do the trick very nicely.

Great shinguards, light and easy to care for
These are great. I also own the Adidas Ghost shinguards that are similar to these, but these are lighter and the fact that they are not identical makes it (1) easy to tell which side goes on which foot without looking at a picture that will eventually rub off and (2) they don't slide so much inside of socks ... i think that the point actually snags on the sock and holds it in place.

Tight!
Very light weight but do the job. L is actually very small/narrow. They fit a "lanky" legged person,(ie. 6ft, 11stone) but if you have calves you'd need to go next size or 2 up as you'd not get the sleeves on

Gute Schienbeinschoner!
