Sunjoy Large Naples Pergola, 10' by 8', Beige

I love it now that it's put together ... but be warned THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE HORRIBLE. It literally took me about 5 hrs. Once I got started, I basically had. O choice but to finish despite my frustration because the weather was threatening rain. That said, the final product is beautiful. My only other complaint is that one of the legs wouldn't go all the way up into the corner joint like it should have, sonthe screws couldn't be put in there. (Yes, I did it right). But it's stable because the leg brace aligned with their proper holes (which is how I know I did it right and the holes were just drilled "off" on that particular leg).

This was the second pergola model I have purchased and used, and is the only one still standing. It's sturdy and beautiful.We use it as a shade for a hot tub on our wood deck and it is the perfect complement for a bit of privacy and just to make it feel more cozy.Nice product.

This pergola looks great but the problem is rust. I live in South Florida miles from the ocean so salt water is not the issue, it's rain. I painted all posts inside and out with rustoleum before assembly and used silicone in all bolts and openings. The biggest problem area is the top trim moulding at each post, it acts like a cup and when it rains it fills with water and does not drain. Water and metal = RUST. I had not painted it because i thought there would be weep holes but the water just sits there. After 4 months it is full of rust and I have since sanded it and painted the inside with rustoleum. I should probably drill a small hole at the bottom of each molding. I also had to sand and paint about six random areas where I found rust, it's been 4 months since install.I have sandy soil so I set the bottom plates with 2 inch galvanized bolts in concrete blocks with cement, then buried and poured cement around the blocks and covered with dirt once everything was setup and level. Next time I would go aluminum, this one is thin sheet metal and will not last without deligent maintenance. Good luck!

We love this item! It is stunning in our yard and we cannot wait to really use it during the summer months when we can sit under it and eat dinner outside with the family. It is well made and very sturdy! The delivery was quick and easy and best of all the company has a carrier call you to schedule the delivery when you will be home to sign and inspect the box, I really like that!! The item came in 1 box, a rather large and heavy one but nice to only have 1 box to manage. The inside the box packaging protected the pieces very well and the pieces were packed methodically well in the box, no loose room for damage to happen, very secure. I would say the assembly took about 1.5-2 hours. My husband was able to assemble 90% of the item on his own, he only needed my assistance a couple times and the help I provided was very minimal. This is NOT a difficult item to assemble and it went up easy and beautifully! The "fabric" for the sling top is VERY high quality, thick fabric material and is clearly rated for outdoor weather. The fabric is heavy weight and not cheap at all, I was very pleased with this as I was unsure how the quality would be and if it would be ok in the heavy rains we get. We live in the Pacific Northwest where it rains 80% of the year so the feature that allows you to pull back the sling fabric to the edges of the frame is a great feature! The fabric material is great for allowing water to repel, it does not allow the water to sit and weigh down on the frame. The powder coating on the frame is a beautiful color and appears high quality and durable as well. We are so very pleased with the quality of this item and it makes a stunning addition to our yard. We can't wait until Summer when the yard is more setup for us to really use the item and enjoy its glory! A MUST have item for any yard or setting, this item would fit beautifully anywhere it is placed.

2021 update. We have had this since 2017 and it did a great job through Colorado weather. We dismantled it for a move and kept the bigger pieces together for ez assembly. Sat in storage for about a year, reassembled at my mom's house. It is still in great condition. There are few places for the rust occurred but you can't tell by looking at it. It was easy to reassemble and I still think this was a great Buy. I purchased for $500 in 2017 I noticed that $700 now. Not sure if I would pay that much but it is a great canopy. We never had to bolt it down or wait it down either .I have to say I was very impressed.You definitely need at the minimum of 2 people. We had 2 women (mom and me) 2 boys (11 yrs, they helped when told) and my hubby who helped with the final lift to the legs. It took us a few hours, or more. I have had it for a month or so and no mold, has withstood wind and hail, and looks great. I have not anchored the legs to anything yet but keep telling myself I should. Home Depot sells one for the same price but the reviews were not that great so I went this direction. Glad I did. It doesn't look quite as...classy as the arched home depot (hudson bay I think) but I really do like it. The directions were good but there were a few parts that you had to read carefully. Make sure the frame is assembled the right way but if not, ya...oops part whatever was flipped... it just took an extra 15 minutes or so to undo some bolts. No big deal. The parts are labeled VERY well and organized. I did use a drill with a screwdriver bit to save time. It came in a very long large box. Arrived on time but was too heavy to move to the backyard by myself. Would and have recommended it.
