Exceptional
From the beginning; the cover draws you in with the colours which makes it looks realistic as a 2D can get; the storyline is quite good as it shows different historical events although not accurately because its a fictional story that the Aki created.Apollo and Ganymede has been drawn exceptionally beautiful; Hades, Poseidon and Zeus are also exceptional because it displays different techniques that Aki has used and the ways they are portayed; Hades has been drawn in a way that really suits him as the god of the underworld; while poseidon looks macho almost like the statues of the goods we see in museums; and Zeus looks out of this world; like he had been carved out of a canvas or something. On with the story; there are several stories in this manga; about heinz, ganymede, apollo and artemis; the big three. Near the end it is mentioned that Zeus has been the the mini garden to see ganymede a lot; so it has slighty connected the fact that of what we know about zeus and ganymede; although just a little hint.If possible; I would have liked a sequel; but at the time dont because i feel it woould ruin the current storyline so far...This is a definite must read!!!

This manga.
There is no other word for the art in this than beautiful. Stunning, perhaps. I fell quickly in love with the looks, read the first parts online, then bought it because just wow.My normal 'graphic novel' reading goes more towards horror and action, things like that, but as an embarrassingly massive fan of mythology I figured it would be an interesting look on the old stuff I already knew. What I wasn't expecting was a gorgeous, philosophically-biased work like this. It brings up questions, refreshes the idea that the gods are immortal, and so could well get bored. A knowledge of Greek mythology isn't needed to understand what's going on -there are character introduction pages.I think this has turned out to be one of my favourite manga, and I highly recommend. And I can not get over how beautiful! Apollo as He is described! A young, long haired youth! Ganymede as an actual beautiful youth! Bits of Troy! And Hades! The character designs are truly spectacular and it's taking effort not to spill the secrets on them (Hint: the 'Big 3' gods' appearances reflect what they are.)

Si te gusta el genero de este tipo de mangas, no dudes en comprarlo, no te arrepentirás, además vienen los 2 tomos japoneses en 1, lo cual te ahorra algo de dinero.

So, so, beautiful.
This manga is just so beautiful. The cover is even shiny, and it's just so appealing to the eye. And all the colour pages inside ... it's simply amazing. Yes, the author has a somewhat smaller than usual fanbase, but that's mostly because her works are centered more on thought and contemplation than action, romance, and all that. Though the drama element's definitely there!Apart from the sheer beauty of the work, the storyline is just as amazing. You have Ganymede, and you can seriously feel just how trapped he is, and how much he wants to get out - and then lengths he would go to, to do so. But you can also feel and see the underlying messages - in the cryptic words of Hades, the quiet majesty of Zeus, and the playful, sadistic honesty of Apollo. And of course Ganymede, trapped between them all, is the most fascinating of all - he was so innocent before he was taken, and the years since have changed him oh-so-much. The idea and problems of immortality are explored in great detail through all the characters. Self - and not-self - along with the subjectivity of beauty and the status of mortals in relation to immortals - is explored through Apollo, Artemis, and a female sacrifice. Poseidon proves that idiocy is not just limited to humans, while Hades ... well, he explores way too many things to just sprout randomly on and on about.Overall? The art is beautiful, the plot may be simplistic but certainly not lacking, while the concepts explored are rich in possibility and leave you very contemplative at the end. Though - if you're a fan of true Greek Mythology, beware that most elements do not adhere to the actual tales - and that in this, most other important gods and goddesses do not exist.

Awesome.
I honestly think Olympos should be in any manga lover's collection.I love all kinds of different genres of manga, mainly Shounen. When I saw this at the bookstore I was first drawn in by the attractive artwork, but when flipping through a few pages I wasn't really 'hooked' because although the artwork is stunning the story at a glance didn't seem interesting. When I flipped it over and saw the price tag I put it back on the shelf, not worth it. Later when I saw it on amazon for a cheaper price I decided maybe it would be nice to have, even if I only liked the art and not the story. Boy was I wrong.I am not going to summarize it because I feel like it would be quite hard to do so without sounding boring. I usually pick up books because of recommendation, not by reading a summary. If someone likes it so much as to tell me to read it I'll give it a try for sure! So that's what I'm telling you! Read this manga! I love how deep this story is, it really draws you in because you get really in touch with these characters. Although this manga is short it will always be in mind, when it ends [terribly soon] you will be left thinking real hard. I hope you'll give it a shot, it's definitely a manga that gets those cogs in your head turning.
