Can i put on cast iron wood fireplace?

I wouldn't place on a cast iron fireplace--I never use high heat when heating water to boiling in glass--medium setting because it heats up very quickly.

The lid is not attached so if tou have another top the size I guess you can .. the lid it comes with snaps in & that is what makes the tea pot whistle

Does the lid need to be removed to pour?

Yes, the lid must be removed before pouring. Use a pot holder to remove and also best to pour the hot water slowly so it doesn’t splash.
