A must read for all entrepreneurs running real, profitable businesses
Srikrishna's book fills an important gap in the startup ecosystem because people are often talking about "getting an exit for your company" but no one really offers any details on how one must really approach the process of selling your company. The framework presented in the book outlines the three distinct stages of the process of selling your company, and highlights the questions one must ask themselves at each stage. Most entrepreneurs I know give almost no thought to the various pieces that are critical: financial planning, tough conversations with co-founders, and so on, and this book is relevant for precisely that reason. As an entrepreneur myself, I also found this book useful as a way to really get an insight into all the different parameters that acquiring companies examine when they look at potential targets. In other highlights, the writing is fluid, and makes the people and their stories really come alive.Highly recommend this book to all entrepreneurs running profitable businesses that could potentially exit one day.

The Art of the Happy Exit
Read the Art of the Happy Exit.... every story and narrative rings true. While I am hesitant to draw lessons ( remember In Search of Excellence), the entrepreneurs featured are both inspired and inspiring. Being prepared is definitely half the battle won..... and the template presented in the book along with the checklists and real life stories will be of great help to entrepreneurs, wannabe business men, analysts and everyone who loves a good yarn. The writing is superb.... sure footed and fluid.

Everything about selling your company! An excellent read.
K. Srikrishna has conducted extensive research on the art and science of selling a company, and has based his excellent book on his personaal experience as well as those of a set of other entrepreneurs. The author has an engaging, if clear, style of narrating the journeys that each of the entrepreneurs has had from founding their companies through considering and then executing on a sale. Throughout the book, Srikrishna provides invaluable checklists on key topics to consider like Money, Purpose, and Team Roles etc., through the process. Using his own framework, Srikrishna has analyzed and provided insights into each of the steps involved in the process. Unlike many others who write on the topic of enterpreneurship, Srikrishna's empathy for others and wry sense of humor made this a read that was hard to put down.

Essential read for any entrepreneur
If you own a company or thinking about starting or buying a company, this book will help you avoid the common mistakes many people make. Even if are just working for a small company, reading this book will help you understand what the owners are doing and decide if you should stick around. If you are looking at an offer from a startup, this will give you a perspective to evaluate if you should take the offer.Only 1% of startups grow big enough to be considered for selling, but if you are lucky enough to reach that stage, you want to make sure you get the full benefit of your labor. The book goes through the experiences of people who went through the process of exit. It was surprising that success didn’t mean only financial success. The experiences ranged from financial success to failure and emotional success to failure. The book doesn’t just go through the experiences but has guidelines and framework to follow for the owners. The advice is well interspersed with the anecdotes to keep the narrative interesting. The only thing I missed was the experience of the 99% that don’t reach this stage and what they did wrong.

What Makes For A Happy Exit?
There are as many doors as there are people in the arena, so every exit has its own character and characters. I appreciate how the author patiently and sweetly offers a well-researched variety of exits, illustrating how one happy exit might bear little resemblance to another.
