Q: I want to use this as a fetch machine for my small dog. Can I use plastic golf balls with the holes?

this machine is low cost and mine works good. I dont think hollow balls would trigger the return plunger. I think solid golf balls are needed. I guess the dog would be okay with regular golf balls. It kicks the balls about 9 ft.

Q: Made in china? If so, not interested.

This, and 90% of everything is made in china or another south Asian country. Such is life.

Q: Is it too noisy for a (corporate) office environment?

No! It makes only a click - which is not as loud as a phone.
