Cirago Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter (DPN2012)

This worked great for my Macbook and I loved using it for all of the presentations that I have to do in school. It also connected to my computer screen at home and worked great there too, however, it stopped working out of the blue. This happened of course just after the date I could return it. I had bought this brand because it wasn't the cheapest hoping to get better quality but was disappointed by my choice in the end. I just wish I knew why it stopped working. I took good care of it when it wasn't in use by using the cap on the end that it came with and placing it in a bag, but it still ended up breaking somehow.

I purchased this item as a 'backup' last year - finally went to use it only to find out it was not working at all. Since it was non-returnable due to the time lag, I opened it up to see if something obvious was wrong (found nothing obvious). This is a very complicated electronic item with a processor, a couple of IC's and 20-30 resistors soldered onto a tiny board. All I can figure is if this is being sold for $15 - you get what you play for. Don't waste your time, buy the genuine Apple product - they monitor the manufacturing quality and part sourcing for reliability and consistency. I lost a couple of hours or more on workarounds thinking it was my secondary monitor that was failing, only to find out it was this cheap POS.

Delivered as shown and described. Great product, works wonders on 1200+ HD resolution with 60Hz refresh rates. We got tired of setting up Powerpoints in MacOffice 2010 and then losing the formatting when we swtiched to our colleges' PC's, so we bought this to fix that problem. It easily connects our Macbooks (White Unibody from 2010) to the Smartboards and overheads in our classrooms and our fellow Mac classmates are always dazzled by it because they've been plainly formatting their presentations so they easily translate from Mac to PC.

I occasionally run across a projector that still requires VGA on campus, but this is the perfect low cost solution. Build quality is solid, though falls just short of "Apple" quality, but a great product for the money. Have been using with a mid-2010 13" MBP for several months now on a variety of TVs and projectors. No issues to report.

Works great. I get both monitors working at max resolution and it was a bit more expensive than the others, but still cheaper than box stores.

I have a macbook pro (purchased new last week from Apple.com)with OSX mountain lion. This adapter does not work with it. I verified this by checking the connectivity with a borrowed apple adapter . Apple adapter works, but this one does not. If you are using OS X 10.8 or later, this adapter may not work.

god product, works well, arrived relatively quickly...but it's over priced for what it is. I preferred getting the mini display port by hdmi cable
