Durable patio umbrella
We bought this umbrella and have had it on our patio through the summer. It has held it's color in our hot Louisiana sun and made it through a few storms. We are pleased with the quality of the frame and the fabric. It is easy to operate and is a great size to cover our L shaped seating area.

Don't think just buy it.
First thing that attracted me and scared me was the price. It was only $99. All others I looked at were $269 and up. I figured if I didn't like it I would return it. It arrived really quick, nice heavy cardboard packaging. It took me all of 5 minutes to assemble. It did include easy to read instructions but I didn't need them, it was that simple to assemble. I ordered the charcoal color. I do want to point out that it does have a metal x frame base that is easily to assemble and did include the tools needed to assemble the bolts, which was nice. Did not purchase the plastic square frame plastic base for the look or weight. We simply added 50lb sand bags on top of the base since the umbrella is on the opposite side of our deck and we can't see the base anyway. Worth the the money. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

Nice looking, sturdy umbrella (base required) that met our needs!
After researching umbrella options, I decided on cantilever/stand-alone vs in-the-table so that we could move it around the patio as needed and because you can’t use a tablecloth easily with an in-the-table umbrella.I chose this one as it seems to be the cheapest on Amazon while still having several thousand 4-5 star reviews.Unless you go for the top tier $500 umbrellas, it seems like all the cantilevers need an additional base to weigh them down. I went with this sand base as it was about $27 vs. the water ones which start at $60.Gravipod Duo Direct Detachable Umbrella Base Weight Bags - Up to 100 lbs. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089SBZJNK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_drW1yHk8YAB8iI had also read a review that the water ones could be hard to fill up. Also, this sand one can hold a full bag of sand without having to pour it out and has handles to really easy to move.Unfortunately I had some problems with the umbrella, but they have been resolved. First, it came with 2 “left legs” for the base so they couldn’t click into each other. I called the seller and they sent me a new whole umbrella a few days later. The new one had a crack in a plastic piece on top of the canopy (which didn’t impact anything) but because I had the other umbrella, I mixed and matched pieces from the 2 sets. The metal feels sturdy, the cloth feels thick. There are a few plastic pieces which make it feel a little cheap but not enough to stop me from buying it again. The raising and tilting mechanism isn’t as straightforward as you’d think; it basically only has 1 position it locks in at each height level. Hard to explain, but in essence it doesn’t have as many angle options as I thought it would, but still enough to provide the shade we wanted.Very happy with final product and it held up well in a light wind on my first day. The canopy sways in the wind which is a little annoying but I think that’s intentional so it doesn’t tip over. The sand base didn’t move at all, so overall it felt secure.

Cost efficient, but big trade-off in quality. Look elsewhere.
TLDR: Easy Assembly. Low cost, quality and longevity remains questionable.UPDATE: After a couple weeks of what I would call casual use, the plastic guard preventing the mechanism from going too far upwards and letting the umbrella too low, broke and fell out of its place completely with the weight of the umbrella pushing it up the pole, scratching it along the way. ALSO, it doesn't even work as an umbrella, as water just drips right down the center assembly underneath the umbrella. I have a hammock under mine right now and I was pretty surprised when i felt the center of it and it was sopping wet after a light rain. Not sure whats happening there, might be related to the umbrella hanging too low.Changing review from 3 starts to 1 star, and will probably request a return or replacement.*original review*Pros: Very easy to assemble, very easy to operate, does exactly what you expected it to do.Neutral: if your area isn't PERFECTLY balanced on a horizontal plane facing the umbrella, it will lean off to the side. Old umbrella was not this noticeable, but this is easily solved by slightly rotating the base. The way that offset umbrellas are designed makes this pretty negligible considering gravity will always balance out the umbrella portion.Cons:Wobbly. I understand offset umbrella's have a bit of play, but this is a little more than whats expected; Definitely not a deal breaker though, no issues from this, just an observation.*Con which prompted review*After a bit of use (less than 2 weeks), the mechanism that locks the umbrella in its height position very quickly lost a bit of its former vigor and when you lock the umbrella towards the beam's highest position, the mechanism does not have enough hold to keep it in place, and the assembly slides upwards.*My solution*I'm probably going to have to buy a locking Oil Filter wrench and see if I can use that to keep it locked in position on the pole. The issue with this is that it obviously is going to scratch it up like crazy over time, but I don't see much of a choice being that the entire pole/arm/umbrella assembly is provided as one factory assembled piece.Love offset umbrellas and I want to give this a better review, which I would have if the lever was better at locking it in position.

This is a very nice umbrella and very easy to assemble
I absolutely love this umbrella. It came quickly, was exceptionally easy to assemble, and once up, I could immediately feel the difference between under it and outside of it. The only tricky part was trying to lift it up into the pole while guiding it round to align with the slots. But I got it and by myself too. From start to finish, it only took maybe 3-5 minutes. The material seems to be weather proof out at least resistant and it looks so very good outside my back door.I very highly recommend this patio umbrella.

broke in less than one year
We bought this umbrella one year ago. Most of the time i do not use this umbrella. We have used it only for a few times This product has a cone shape that guides the umbrella into its position. The cone has come loose and come out of place each and every time. This causes the string to rub on a sharp edge and cuts the string. This is not a well made product since it is expensive and broke so easily. Now I have an umbrella screwed to the deck with no use. All buyers should be beware of the defect in this product and I would NOT BUY if I know that there is such a huge defect.

Good while it lasted; it just didn’t last.
This was a good looking umbrella that provided decent shade, but we only got one summer of use. Despite being covered with a custom made umbrella cover from early fall through late spring, the string that opens the umbrella rotted and snapped, and the winding mechanism rusted and broke. See attached photo. iTech Canada said, “ unfortunately, we cannot do anything in your case as the manufacturer's warranty for the umbrella is 90 days after the delivery date.” I’ve had far cheaper umbrellas that lasted many seasons. This one is not fit for purpose. It’s a nice looking piece of junk. I suggest finding another one.
