Top quality, proven durability, bargain price
This has been my engineering office, lab, and machine shop favorite for years. The adhesive is aggressive and and ample thickness. It's so aggressively sticky that if you test it by firmly pressing onto a finger, it is uncomfortable to peel off your hand. It works well to cover paper labels on poly bagged and boxed parts, to avoid the need for the ridiculous label machines. We depend on it not so much for shipping packages (since we have the superior water-activated paper tape for that), but it is superior for shipping to the various 3M "heavy duty" items tried over the years. It stands up well to moisture, humidity, and oily environments. We have items that have been in hot/humid storage for years using this tape, and it hasn't yellowed, peeled off, weakened, shrunk, or gotten brittle--all the the worries with long-term storage use. It is optically clear in single layers, so you can cover shipping labels and bar codes with it to bullet-proof them.I confirmed the thickness with a micrometer at 3.5 mils (0.0035 inch). I've tried a lot of brands and they all seem to cheap out at 1 to 2 mils, which is not enough body to perform well sticking down, much less resist starting to tear. The sweet spot seems to be about 3 mils or more. This thickness makes the tape lay down flat and smooth, without wrinkling or stretching, if you apply with proper technique. It's very noisy coming off the roll. This is a good sign: the stuff sticks to itself well. Quiet tape is weak tape.Tip: don't stretch tape around corners, always lay and wrap it down evenly but without slack. If you stretch it when applying, it stresses the adhesive bond such that it wants to pull itself off.It smells like it should. Just a faint odor of acrylic adhesive chemistry when you rip it off the roll. Nothing unpleasant or noxious in the least.I believe this is identical to the old reliable S. P. Richards (Sparco) sealing tape 60041 product, but a different part name and brand, although the package does say S.P. Richards in the fine print.Short of Kapton, this is the king of all-purpose heavy tape for my work.

Still the best after all these years
Even though this tape has changed brands and has definitely increased in price over the years, it's still the best that I've found for securely taping boxes for shipping. Excellent adherence in cold or hot temps, and not flimsy like less expensive tapes. Beats the equivalent Scotch "heavy duty shipping" tape by a mile.

Pretty much exactly the same as Sparco 60041 tape
The Business Source (32956) is pretty much exactly the same as the old Sparco (60041) tape. Thickness is the same but the old Sparco tape felt a tiny tiny bit stickier to me, the business source tape is still very sticky and sticks perfectly to boxes. You wouldn't be able to really tell the difference in stickiness unless you had both tape side by side and compared them. Overall this tape is the best bang for the buck compared to the the old sparco which went up in price drastically. If you're looking for the Sparco (60041) tape buy the Business Source (32956) instead.

Strong & Good Price
I have an online clothing business so I hunted down the cheapest tape that was not cheaply made, and this was it. It's well made. It's not that super thin and easily torn kind I hate like Staples. Theirs is that cheap thin junk you have to use 2 layers just to be safe it will not tear, so you end up paying double the price. This tape is a good enough quality so I take the time to buy online instead of going to Costco. It's more expensive at Costco and Staples. As long as this stays at this price and quality I will always buy it here.

How was this a replacement?
When I tried to order Sparco, Amazon sent me to this tape saying it was the replacement. Having never used Sparco but was recommended it, I figured this was a name change or something. Nope. this tape sucks. First it doesn't fit on all my tape guns and dispensers. I mean brute force won't get it on,. I got it on one gun because it has tapered ends but the wheels... forget it. Second, the amount of adhesive used has to be like 1/3 that of "normal" tape. This tape is cheap. If I hadn't waited to long to try it, I'd return it but I waited past 90 days. I really should complain to Amazon since they diverted me to it. It's their fault.

Totally adequate for the price.
It's strong. It's not the stickiest, but it's adequate.

Best for priority mail packaging
This is my go to tape for all my online box mailings. I ship heavy USPS priority mail boxes and this holds up.

Doesn't always stays stuck to box.
Used for moving boxes and doesn't always stay stuck to (new) box after only a few minutes. Can't rely on it especially for storage boxes. Will buy DUCK brand next time.
