The end of the Alignment ?
Another enjoyable book in the series. It would be difficult to follow for those without an understanding of the Honorverse.

Next Crown of slaves book
Carries on from the last one . If you enjoyed the last one you will enjoy this one, if not you won't.Personally do not care for this series but read it anyway. Jumps about a bit and the Grand alliance is so superpowered now that the outcome is assured .Hope he get to the next core book soon or even another anthology. Overall an OK book

More accurate title: "To START With Lots of Meetings; To END In Fire"
There's a lot going on now in the Honorverse. The Solarian League is regrouping after its defeat by the Grand Alliance and is crafting a new constitution under the watchful eyes of an Alliance fleet. The planet of Mesa, occupied by Alliance forces, also has to form a new government, and the Alliance desperately wants to find hard evidence of the Mesan Alignment and -- if possible -- where their 'Bolthole' is located.About midway through this thick tome you'll begin to wonder "Will there be any action in this novel at all, or will it be an endless sequence of meetings?" But the cover illustration shows a big space station or an orbital fortress under attack, so you reason that, eventually, there should be some major action, right? There's been some "police" action on Mesa, but even that tale was told after-the-fact.At around the 7/8ths point you see the relatively few pages left to finish and truly begin to wonder if the book has a payload, but...there's that cover illo! And finally, you get some action. You get AN end in fire. Not the final end, but AN end. And the cover illustration is finally justified.Make no mistake: all the meetings in the book -- and there are MANY -- are important to the overall context of the Honorverse. Unlike the early books in the Torch sequence, this fourth book also sits firmly in the Honorverse as a whole. In short, dedicated fans really can't skip this book...although you'll be excused if, at some points, you'll wonder if the long, meeting-filled journey will be worth it.
