How would this compare to oculus VR headset? I do not understand exactly what the goggles are showing...lights?

They are very different systems. The Oculus is a virtual reality headset, while the Kasina DeepVision glasses project multicolored, usually flickering light onto a frosted lens. Different flicker frequencies and induce various alternate states of awareness.

What is the power source? Is it Universal voltage (can be plugged into 110 or 220 volts outlet)?

USB charged internal battery, with the right AC adapter it will work.
