Interesting.
My belief system is quite different, however I read this with an open mind and could see parallels in how the author explains what an angel is to my understanding of science and the inspiration I derive from nature. In fact, there were parallels to many belief systems which made the book an incredibly interesting read. I highly recommend this to all open minded readers. The Australian Aboriginals have smoking ceremonies and use smudging sticks for cleansing. The New Guinea tribes people also use these in their jungle huts and when the the do gooders told them such practices were heathen and unhealthy and took the smudge sticks from the dwellings the natives succumbed to mosquito bite borne malaria. So the researcher and historian in me is fascinated and interested in how using a smudging stick especially into the corners of the room and a similar practice by cultures totally disconnected, by distance and cultural belief, come up with similar spiritual beliefs possibly stemming from similar original practical purposes. I.E. Corners of rooms = stopping insects from breeding there? Okay, just my inquiringly mind wandering here. I do LOVE a book that makes me think. This book did fulfill my desire from a book to stimulate. This book packed a punch as I saw multiple parallels in the way I think, even though I don't use Angel cards. Frankly I see little difference other than for the name given, as in angel names, to the way I, for example, might go for a walk in nature, become inspires and open intuitively to the experiences I see and feel, draw in positive mental attitude and seek to block out negative thought and influence while planning my day's to do list and future goals. For another, perhaps not blessed with a bird sanctuary lake on their property, the reading of Angel Cards and the choice of one Angel Card to inspire them for the day, I see, is the same thing, just using a different method and explained in different and very eloquent words.I don't usually write such long reviews. Attempting to show that you do not need to be into "Angel Cards" to enjoy and find your own positive mental attitude and personal sense of spirituality enhanced though reading this book. It also gives you the 'how to' to use a fabulous new tool, the use of Angel Cards, to develop and use your intuitiveness if you would benefit from a physical aid to do this.I also liked that this book was easy to read, no 'mambo-jumbo' nor bigotry toward alternate belief systems. It deserves 5 stars and a wide readership. Quite interesting.

View of a non- believer
This book was recommended to me and although not a believer I decided to try it. I was not disappointed as it is well written and presented and I was fascinated by the content. While not sufficient to change my lack of belief, I was pleased in the knowledge that it would be useful and comforting to others. It is easy to follow and an ideal guide for those seeking an introduction. My first inclination would have been to rate at 4.5 stars but as fractions are not allowed and on reflection my downgrading from five was no doubt only a result of my own scepticism (which would be subjective and unfair) I have rounded up.

Insightful
I have owned Angel Reading cards for years now and this book is the first I've read that explained clearly how to get the best from my cards. It is an easy read that you can dip in and out of to check on different ways to get the best use of your cards. Really delighted to have found this.

Great For Beginners
This book is great for beginners, and is a handy little reference guide. It is short and to the point. It covers all of the Archangels and explains which one's you should call on for any situation. I like that it explains card symbols such as animals, colors, images, etc. I ordered the kindle version, however I plan to purchase the paperback (if one is available), so that I can quickly reference while reading my cards. Highly recommended to beginning card readers, like myself. I give it five stars.

I was looking for something more about Angel Oracle Cards
The booklets that come with Doreen Virtue's angel oracle and tarot card decks only have so much room in them; I was often left with questions about various things.Enter this book, exactly what I was looking for!Ms. Evans went into more detail than I hoped for, including looking at every detail on a card, the card's color(s), etc. This was specific information that I'm now going to incorporate into my readings. This might not be a huge book, but it's packed with information that a beginner like me really appreciates. :-)
