This is a plug and play type deal but it even seems to enchance the sound quality using head phones cheap ones even give you a surround sound feel. After my girlfriend broke her headphone jack on her laptop I had to think of something. So now she is back to using her computer and it worked pretty good purchase . Would I say it's better than my amp and Dac that I payed $250 for? No but it's definitely a noticeable upgrade from the stock and a huge upgrade from a broken headphone jack.

Had some issues at first with the audio and it did not come with instructions. After some research I finally got it to work. It does the job.

I have a dell inspirion 13 7000 and for those of you who use an audio line out from your stereo into your laptop....this wont work on this computer due to some inherent audio jack problem this computer has. This product works by adapting the usb into the line in by plugging it into the headphone jack port. worked instantly. glad to find it.

I almost threw this adapter away...After reading multiple reviews, I assumed that the usb would show up in Finder. However, it wasn't until I went to my speaker settings that I was able to select the output. Needless to say it works perfect, with absolutely no loss in sound quality.I ordered this specific adapter because I wanted my headphone jack on my wired mac keyboard. The usb connector was a little snug, but connected none-the-less.

headphone jack works, mic jack does not

I don’t remember what I paid for it, but it was not expensive. However, I had to get this sound technician guy to install a driver on my old laptop because it won’t it would not record without it. However, less he installed the driver, I was able to upload all of my songs onto my laptop. The sound quality was fine I guess is the best you can get with this device

Sometimes freezes up my game when I plug it in. Doesn't happen often and hasn't lately so could've been the game it's self. Otherwise, fantastic adapter for broken audio ports. Great build quality too. Aluminum shell gives it a premium feel for a low price.
