Almost worked
After thoroughly researching my options, purchased this product to run a 900 Watt, 220 Volt food processor on a 110 Volt, 20 amp circuit in my NYC home. Unit arrived in a previously sealed but opened box inside Amazon's own shipping box, and had a vaguely burnt/chemical smell, otherwise looked pristine and very well built. Following the manufacturer's instruction, I plugged the unit into a dedicated wall outlet and switched it on. Red and green LED voltage indicator lights for 220 and 110 Volts on front turned on and switched back and forth before the breaker in the back tripped off. Reset circuit buttons, tried again and success!, indicator light came on and stayed on for 220. Plugged in the FP, tested it out, seemed to run fine. LiteFuze Converting Box was totally silent, delightful! Shut off both the FP and the converting Box for a few hours, leaving only the latter plugged in. Next time I try to turn it on, again the LEDs alternate between red and green, clicking back and forth and back and forth until the breaker back of the unit trips. Again and again and again. Reset buttons to no avail. Cannot get the gosh darned thing to stay on 220 V output, with nothing plugged in and no other load on my home circuit. Burnt smell is not getting any better. Called "Tech Support" as offered for this item by Amazon. Gentleman there informed me they do NOT support this product and could only agree unit must be defective and issued a return label. Unable to make simple exchange for a guaranteed working unit as was sold by third party and only fulfilled by Amazon. Contacted LiteFuze and they sincerely apologized for the inconvenience, told me just to return the defective unit to Amazon (which I'd done) and order another, which I guess I might.

A fine transformer
This unit does exactly what you need with little compromise or fuss. Of course, your success depends on selecting the appropriate voltage to meet the requirements of your appliance PLUS the ability to handle the surge drawn upon startup. Two to three times the rated voltage is generally recommended. I bought this unit primarily to run the Arzum Mirra Turkish-Greek coffee pot which draws 850W. (http://www.amazon.com/Quality-Renowned-Turkish-Electric-Stainless/dp/B00GO45NDA/ref=sr_1_2?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1400703963&sr=1-2)For the past month, the unit has worked perfectly. It handles all the different plugs that European appliances have and even allows you to run 110 appliances at the same time (provided you do not exceed its limits, of course.)As you can see from the specifications it is fairly heavy and large, but I believe that's what you get for this level of performance. It makes no perceptible sound or smell unless you are right up against it, but it is very slight, and I don't feel it is any worse than other appliances emit. You can certainly minimize these potential annoyances by switching off the breaker on the back of the unit when it is not in use.I would not hesitate to recommend this unit.

It blows out my 16A fuses; usually
It works well but I have a few gripes with it.#1 it blows out my 16A fuses. I wanted to buy the 3000W version but I read that due to a spike when you turn it on, it can blow out a fuse. So I bought the 2000W version since someone at LiteFuze told me it wouldn't do that. It does. Sometimes I have to reset the fuses 3-4 times before it finally turns on.#2 the output outlets are loose so if I have a drill or some other power tool hooked up to it and I move (not pull!) the cable, the plug falls out. The universal plug is a good idea but it needs to be redesigned to make sure it holds more securely.#3 when the transformer came, there was something rattling inside. I opened it up and it turned out to be some broken off glue but more careful packaging could help.#4 not a huge deal but worth pointing out... The nice blue shade seen in the picture is only in the picture. My unit is much darker and frankly speaking, uglier shade of blue. So if this is going to sit in your living room or some visible place maybe the black version would be better.

They were amazing in how they ultimately resolved the issue
This review is for product itself, as well as and especially for the manufacturer, not for Amazon. They were amazing in how they ultimately resolved the issue.I bought this in January 2016 for use with a 1800W Raclette table grill from Germany. First of all, the product arrive dinged and slightly bent but it turned on and did work. For about 30 minutes that is, before it shuts itself off. Great when you have 7 other guests trying to eat Raclette, a bunch of food on there and no other way to power the grill. We tried different outlets and only after about 15 minutes off, could we turn the transformer back on. It would do this the 3 other times we used it, it would work fine for about 30 minutes, then shut itself off, as if it just couldn't handle the 1800W.So finally I got fed up, pinged Amazon and the agent at first referred me to the manufacturers website to claim the warranty. On their website, when it comes to warranty claims, they say to contact the authorized seller with warranty issues! - So I send them several messages over the course of a few weeks, explaining the issue with absolutely no response. I then check their "support forum", only to find that all the posts on their are basically bots posting links to movie or sports streams or literally bots talking to each other in the most awkward way. So basically, this company doesn't have any real support for their products.Thankfully, Amazon was great and issued a refund after I reached out the second time. This transformer might work for lighter applications but the 2000W version definitely can't handle a 1800W grill and the company is shady as heck. I hope this helps anyone trying to decide whether to buy from them or having an issue getting support.

Quiet and dependable
I have been using this transformer for 6 months with audio equipment brought to Canada from the UK. I can confirm that it is indeed a quiet device as others have said, which is a concern with many other transformers. The only design flaw is that they should have left the UK socket upside down (apparently was this way on older models), or mounted the socket higher so that there is room for the cable to turn 90 degrees; not a problem when the unit is sitting on a shelf, but it is a problem with the unit sat on the floor. I'm still awarding 5 stars, because the transformer excels at it's main function, which is silent high quality power conversion.

I was worried but it works perfect!
Works great no issues. Havent felt any heat from it. May be a little heavy for some especially if you would be moving it around often. Purchased this for the use of a overseas vacuum pump does the job fine. I've tested it on a few other items and works!

LiteFuze convertingbox 2000-Blau Autospannungswandler TRANSFORMER

Good quality materials and reliable.
The only issue is the position of one of the European plugs. You cannot plug-in UK type plug with the current position. You should elevate the box by 8-10cm. Apart from that it works perfect and silently. I do have 2 of them. Using the first one for electric kettle and a Turkish coffee machine, the other one for high-end home theatre receiver and an active subwoofer.

Great for high-ish end stereo. positively impressed
I bought two of these units to power 2 high-ish end stereos I brought from the UK with me to North America. These are component stereos with an integrated amplifier, CD player and high-end turn-table. They perform silently without adding noise to the power. Music even from turn-table low-noise without heat problems. I am very impressed and happy
