an enchanting read full of fun, emotions and chemistry.
Back in the Burbs by Avery Flynn and Tracy Wolff delivered the bitter truths of life wrapped in the sweet coating of humor and wit. It was an enchanting read full of fun, emotions and chemistry. It was entertaining and a true escape in form of a contemporary romantic comedy.Mallory has spent the large part of her life helping her husband build up his law practice sacrificing everything. Only to find out that he is a cheating and vile person. Now she is penniless. Jobless. On verge of an unfair divorce. Just then she inherits the house of her favourite aunt. And when she reaches the picture like suburb, she finds the whole house is in shambles, full of things her aunt hoarded over years, violating 1001 HOA rules and going to cost her tons of money in taxes and everything. As she starts her new journey, she meets her neighbour Nick. Strict for rules, super organized and super smart Nick. Will Nick help her or leave her in greater mess?So I absolutely love Mallory. This woman is my soulmate. She gets kicked down over and over again..and she gets up over and over again. Her witty banters are EPIC. I mean I could just read her inner monologues for ages. I didn't know if I should start crying while laughing. Self deprecation is an art and she has it down. But her determination to take charge of her life is absolutely amazing. And wow. She did turn her life around or what? She went through the painful process of looking into the mirror and finding her own faults and then embracing them. She finally put the past where it belongs. In the past.Because she would have missed someone like Nick otherwise. Oh my heart..this man. Like how perfect is this man. He comes across a bit grumpy, brooding, strict and no fun but when he opens up, that Nick is pure unavoidable dangerous perfection. He is kind. He is loyal. He is genuinely good person. He showed Mallory that she needs to leave her baggage and take risk. His personality is in contrast to Mallory's slightly weird and colourful one. And they match and balance so well. The chemistry is fantastic. A lot of teasing. A lot of flirting. And a lot of smouldering things!Back in the Burbs by Tracy Wolff and Avery Flynn took me to an amazing ride. I laughed, I swooned, I cheered, I clapped and I was completely lost in this journey.I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

Loved it.
I So loved this one💚.35-year old Mallory just discovered that her husband of almost 10 years, whom she had sacrificed everything for, has cheated on her with his paralegal & now she's homeless, jobless & broke.In-between a nasty divorce she finds out that her favorite aunt died & left her the house in the suburbs, which has got a hundred HOAs & is in NO condition to live in. Despite all this, she instantly moves into the house, to honor her aunt's wishes but more likely to prove her parents wrong. If you think it's a romcom where the MC moves into her late aunt's place, in search of a second chance, (but everything goes wrong)& she meets someone new who's worthy of her trust & love, then you're not wrong. But it's so much more than that. MUCH more. This book deals with abandonment, cheating spouse, mental health, death of a loved one, hoarding issues.Mallory is an amazing lead, she's quirky, smart & funny. The level of fear & anxiety she dealt with was a lot. I loved how she stood up for herself, one day at a time. Her internal monologs which involved(most of the time) her hot neighbor cracked me up.Nick, a swoony, charming, grumpy hero, was a sight for sore eyes, who was obsessed with mowing the lawn.It was so easy to fall in love with him & his wits.Their chemistry was on fire. The slowburn, bonding, drama, humor confrontation, conflict everything was on point.I love books which have shorter chapters, that makes it light & easy to read.My most favorite was how there's an ACTUAL scene in the book that depicts the cover.

Funny addictive read
If you love enemies to lovers as a trope, then Back In The Burbs is for you. It is a fun and entertaining romantic comedy, that you can’t stop page-turning.Mallory has inherited a house, it’s a real do-er upper and she is determined to give the house a fresh start, a bit like herself after finding out her husband had been cheating on her. But with a neighbour who instantly seems set on having Mallory heading back to where she’s came from, being in the Burbs proves interesting.A funny and addictive read and I would recommend to readers who love romantic comedies. It is fresh, flirty and I couldn’t help but like Nick.

Hilarious and Romantic
I fell in love with Mallory from just the blurb and I was so glad to read her story. I think we've all felt a little like Mallory from time to time, but the woman takes control of her life in ways that even she doesn't see, mainly because just as she's on track to get one thing figured out, another situation comes crashing into her life. Definitely recommend for a light hearted, romantic read where you'll be rooting for Mallory from beginning to end.

So well written.
This story leaves you feeling warm and content. Mallory has lost a sense of who she is after a marriage of conformity. Watching her grow into a butterfly from her cocoon is a wonderful journey. Nick is genuinely a nice, charming, decent man, who found someone to bring colour to his life. A great read!

Hot and hilarious!
I devoured Back in the Burbs in less than a day. I love it. It’s amazing. And hilarious. And I could sing it’s virtues for hours, to be honest. Tracy and Avery have provided everything I love in a good chick lit book, and more.If anything, the only bad thing I could say is that I just want more of Mallory and Nick!

Pretty good
I’m not generally a fan of these author pairings but these two seemed to work pretty well together. I had never heard of Tracy Wolf before reading this but it was good enough that I started searching out other titles by her after reading this one. It was refreshingly different from some of the other rom coms Ive read.
