VIRIDIAN INSTANT-ON HOLSTER UPGRADE

ECR Upgrade KitThis kit gets 5 stars for performance, but 3 stars for instructions.The kit is complete with everything needed to update a holster to provide the Viridian ECR function. The ECR function is provided by a magnetic switch in the unit. When activated by a magnet the magnetic switch turns the unit off.You might achieve the same result at a little less cost if you assemble all the components from scratch, but unless you already have all of the components on hand, that is doubtful. In addition, the magnet supplied in the kit is very small and packaged in a black plastic container that makes the magnet unnoticeable on a black holster.When installed properly, the unit works perfectly, but the instructions could be a lot better. I installed the kit on for a X5L laser/light on a Kydex holster. The proper location of the magnet was not correct for the X5L. The X5L magnetic switch seems to be located on the bottom of the unit and is most sensitive to magnetic on that bottom close to the operating switches.My holster was made by White Hat and the Kydex is a very close fit to the entire rid. With the magnet placed on the bottom side of the X5L close to the manual switch it works perfectly. It will not work in any other position. When mounted in that correct position the magnet can’t be seen from the side of the holster.I like it a lot!Wil

Not too many sellers to purchase from, the only one that had it shipped sooooo slowly.Shipping aside, if you don't care about the aesthetics, just use an epoxy and a magnet (not sure of the polarity but it's fairly weak) of your choice. That's literally all this is plus a plastic cover, popsicle stick and sandpaper. Installation was very easy, hope it will be just as durable.But it wasn't egregious over priced, that said I'm sure Viridians margins were well over 70%.Anyway, it's a great option that we can add the instant on capability to any holster we choose. Lord knows the reactor series is all but useless without it (button so small and hard to press).

Worked but barely. Glue was very very very dry and magnet is rather weak but it'll do.

This does exactly what it says it does. I was having a hard time finding a holster I liked that fit my S&W M&P Shield with the Reactor ECR green laser, so I had a custom one made locally and applied this kit, so far it works perfectly. I put too much glue on, so it's a bit unsightly, but that's on me and who cares when I carry IWB, no one else sees it.

It is a great product but for the Glock 26 you need to grind off the trigger guard for it to fit correctly.I see somebody did not know how to do that so he complained about it did not fit.

Added to my SmartCarry holster and it works as described. The epoxy appears to be of a type that will stick to anything. Be careful of not making a mess though.

Straight forward instructions and works great to ECR enable on my off-body Urban Carry Stoker holster. Very happy with the hold of the ECR component and the consistency / workability of the adhesive versus very thin super glue. Recommend without reservation.

The on/off button is on the wrong side,for RH shooters so you have to use th ECR technology as teh only "reliable" and fast way to activate the laser. The laser is bright and the ECR works, but I'm not sure I trust relying on the ECR for my night-stand/carry gun withotu checking the battery every few days.
