Simply adorable
This is a children's book loosely based on the Little Red Hen story. With it's origin all the way back to the late 18th century it has been published many times. This is the story of a little green hen. Instead of no one helping that little hen make her loaf of bread from a grain of wheat, this little hen lives in an old apple tree. She toils to keep healthy. After some time more apple trees sprout. She asks some animals to help with the upkeep, but only half of them choose to. Once disaster, a flood, strikes, the other animals come for help. There's a happy ending. While the story is basic, it has a positive environmental message. The quaility of the artwork elevates it further, so much emotion is given with simple drawings and the colours are strong. It's a wonderful story presented in a large book for all ages. Alison Murray has done a lovely job here.

A bang up to date story about environmental impact geared towards young readers.
It really is nothing like the original " little red hen" . If they remember correctly no one helped her. But the green help does get some help . The concept is obviously about trees and climate change and how working together we can have a healthier planet. This is a great way to introduce children about their environment and how working together makes things happen. It is beautifully illustrated.

Good read and worthy messages for young uns'
It's a basic story but with a modern (environmental) spin on it - bright colours and well written and illustrated and has some good messages about working together - my four year old loved it.Recommended.

Beautiful
A beautiful book. The message that working together is better and we have to care for the environment is well made. The accompanying pictures are lovely too.
