I was a bit nervous buying this bulb, as the price was low and there were no reviews. But it looked exactly the same as the other bulbs, so I took a chance. Glad I did.I used this to swap the stock bulb in an Optoma HD141x projector (which had died after only 250 hours of use but was just out of the short 1 year warranty period - boo Optoma!). The company tries to sell you a complete metal housing that happens to have a bulb inside it, for $140 or so.But it's really easy to replace the actual bulb within instead. About 5 screws in total, and no special tools. Just wear some clean gloves when touching the bulb to avoid leaving oily fingerprints which could cause thermal problems later. The total replacement took about 5-10 minutes.My 2015 Optoma projector is back to its original glorious brightness. I have only put about 4 hours onto this new bulb so far (as of April 2017), but will come back and update this review if there are any problems in the coming years.

Easy to install but color is dim. Have to have brightness set all the way up and still cannot see screen if any light in the room. Faded within 300 hours of use.Updating review now that I've taken this out and looked at it. The middle glass portion that holds the filament swelled and blackened. We were lucky that this didnt explode in our projector. 324 hours of screen time.

Bought this replacement in oct 17 and didn't last 2 years like the original I bought in 15, does get used often but heat and ventilation shouldn't be the issue with it mounted on the ceiling, unless I can blame the design of the projector or it's a cheap bulb. The other veiwsonic projector I bought from microcenter for 800$ in 2015 has a clearer picture, shorter throw and has not needed a bulb change. In the last 4 years. Should have just stuck with that.

Works absolutely perfectly. Beautiful, bright, crisp picture. Standard installation. You will need small screwdrivers to take the bulb out of the assembly. Doesn't fade or flicker. Have been using around 2 months and still going strong. Glad I saved so much buying this less expensive bulb that does an awesome job. Fast and reliable shipping as well!

44 hours on the bulb and it’s already started flickering and a lamp defect shows on the image permanatelg that started an hour or so ago. Clocked 3k+ hours plus on original lamp with no problems.
