American Angler PRO Electric Fillet Knife

This is the second knife I have purchased in a year. Both have the same problem of the switch sticking. The first I tried to fix without success. I ordered a second, and had the same issue. These knives have a serious flaw. I think these could be the best on the market if this was not a problem.

I agonized over the selection of an electric fillet knife, but selected the American Angler Pro. I used it for the first time on a walleye fishing trip to the Lake of the Woods in Ontario. In short, the handle warmed up quickly and the blades were not very sharp. I was so disappointed. I quit using it after 6 fish. I will try to have the blades sharpened professionally and will give it another try. If it doesn't improve the performance, I will buy a different brand or go back to the tried and true method of using a very good fixed blade fillet knife. I cannot recommend this product.

Wanted to try this brand of knife because I'm having to replace trigger switches in my 2 older knives.The knife has plenty of power compared to others I own, and is comfortable to operate.The blades were a different story, after struggling through the first 6 crappies I decided to try a set of blades from a older/ different brand knife.They fit perfectly and the knife worked GREAT!Hoping to contact the company for a blade replacement so I may see if this unit can fillet the thousands of fish my old units have done in the last 25 years.

I have used a regular fillet knife to fillet fish for the last 50 years but after seeing an American Angler electric fillet knife used, I became interested and talked to the man who had it. He convinced me and I ordered one. So far I have used it to fillet trout, perch, catfish and bass and I love it. It is so much superior to a manual filet knife that I wish I had bought one years ago. It is much easier to use and so effortless and fast in removing the skin after taking off a fillet. Good job American Angler!

I bought this knife in August. I fish manly for catfish. I had a Rapala for 2-1/2 years. And probably cleaned 1400 fish with it before the trigger started messing up. Figured I better get a new one before it left me high and dry. I thought I would try a American angler. I have probably cleaned about 200 fish so far. It works as expected. Sometimes the motor get a little hot but has not given me any trouble yet. I think it does run a bit slower than a Rapala but not enough to make a difference. I can’t say anything bad about Rapala. So far I really like the American Angler

This is the first electric knife that has the power needed for cleaning big fish and I've tried several others. This is my second American Angler electric knife and the first one lasted 10 years with me using it almost every weekend. I clean all the salt water and fresh water fish me and friends catch. Nothing out there even compares with this knife.

I bought this after the Rapala Pro filet knife that was defective right from the first use. This filet knife is very quiet and powerful. The blade is nice and flexible so you don’t waste any fish when filleting. I would buy again if it ever breaks.

This knife is ridiculously awesome and I cannot figure out why. It's just 2 blades moving back and forth just like every other electric fillet knife I have (mister twister, 2 different Berkley ones, and one other brand that I don't know). However, when going head to head cleaning fish with other knives when cleaning speckled trout, I can out clean my buddies 2 to 1. I rarely go through the thin skin of a spec and it produces spectacular fillets. When cleaning tougher red fish and trying to go their thick ribs, it doesn't even check up. It does the job like nothing I've ever seen. I really wish I could understand why...... It doesn't make any sense why it is SO much better.... but it just is.
