Yyyyyeeeas!
Ok, so! My family and I go camping often... I am preparing for the end of the world, preparing for loss of income, and in general just hoarding food and supplies. I have supplies from pretty much every brand in the paranoid prepper. Out of every '25-year shelf life' brand out there, and Peak Refuel has become my all time favorite, and quickly. These meals absolutely impress me. So much so thaymt tonight instead of making dinner, I just opened a bag of coconut curry and poured boiling water in it. There aren't too many freeze dried meals out there I actually want to eat everyday. Peak has it! Sure they are a little pricey to just be eating every day, but if you want quality, these guys know how to do it! The rice is soft and very rice-like, the chicken rehydrates perfectly and ends up with amazing texture, the tiny chunks of veggies inside are great, and the sauce... just wow! I know it sounds grandiose, but this freeze dried meal is better than some of the local curry spots I frequent in my town. I made myself the chicken coconut curry for dinner. It says two servings, and thats pretty right. Two people could split this and be satisfied. Not me however, I wanted the whole thing. Nom nom nom 😋 Towards the end I am starting to get full. There really is a meal sized portion of here, including the chicken chunks. M full! Not just a thimble full of chicken dust like Ive seen with many other brands. Final thoughts: it takes a lot to impress me, but Peak nailed it. Now.... for my friends over at Peak Refuel: -Keep up the tasty work, you are spot on. -Introduce a budget line of meals without sacrificing quality or size. You drop that price down to $5 to $8 - you will be #1 in the entire world, drowning in orders for your delicious meals.

Good option
I ordered a variety of Peak meals for my son to taste test for his AT trip. We both tried this meal and enjoyed the flavor, texture and amount of food in the package. It re-hydrated very well and the taste of coconut and curry was very present. It is a little on the sweet side. There are good pieces of chicken which came out soft and had actual chicken taste unlike some meals that have no taste with the meat. The amount of product was appropriate and left you feeling full long after eating. I would definitely purchase this specific meal again.

Will buy again!
It rehydrated so well that it felt like normal food with a nice mix of textures and flavor. Even the pieces of chicken tasted like actual chicken. I might cook it a little differently at home, but I would very happily eat this exact thing at a friend's house and never even ask if it had started life as a backpacking meal. Catering to a wide market, the curry is a touch sweet and not very spicy, but overall tasty and well balanced. Bonus factor is that the portion size is good for backpacking meals - a light dinner for two backpackers who have been snacking heavily all day or a big-ish dinner for one hungry person. It's light weight, compact, and something I will actually look forward to eating. As someone who struggles to eat enough on backpacking trips (and who backpacks with a picky eater) - this was worth every penny.
