How to journey through life with an autoimmune disease.
This is a must read book for anyone who has struggled with autoimmune disease. We often feel like we are going it alone. This is the journey of a doctor who has lupus. It is a wonderful perspective of real life. As a Chaplain who has lupus I appreciate the part faith plays in this battle. There are some great common sense suggestions on how to deal with all that autoimmune disease brings to us. Manisha has shared her journey in a very easily read format.

Relatable and a Pleasant Read
I felt as if I were reading a version of my own story while reading this book. She is open, vulnerable, and does not hold back on how having a chronic illness changed her life but also how she has adapted to her new normal. Also, I appreciated the practical guides at the end of the book on preparing for a doctor's appointment, a gentle reminder to caregivers, and tips on self-care. Great read and highly recommend.

Brave to Share
I was surprised how openly the doctor talked about her relationship with herself and husband. Her diagnosis came at a difficult time which had an impact on everything from completing her residency to family planning. Autoimmune diseases are often misunderstood and I appreciate how she included her culture and faith along the way. This book is helpful for people with chronic disease as well as their families.

Easy read for anyone looking to understand lupus
This book was very easy to read. Dr. Manisha really does help you bridge the gap between the doctor-patient relationship. I highly recommend this book for any lupus (or autoimmune disease) patient, doctor or anyone with a friend or family member who has lupus. It will help you understand the patient's perspective as well as the doctor's perspective. I feel like my feelings and struggles about having lupus were captured in this book without knowing the author. Excellent book. I highly recommend.

Great read!!
As an attorney myself, I also struggled with maintaining the image of a professional lawyer while wanting to express my unique and bubbly personality. I also struggled with fear of the challenge of being a great attorney while hearing impaired and after being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. With my husband diagnosed with stage 4 cancer six months after our wedding, I can also relate to the caregiver advice. I was hesitant to read a book on lupus as I don’t have lupus and thought I would not be able to relate. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised that there is so much in the book to relate to for different people. Whether you are a woman coming to find yourself or an individual struggling with a chronic illness or simply just a caregiver or an aspiring medical professional, this book is for you! Great job!

Waste of time. The lady lives on steroids.
I don't plan to destroy my body with Steroids. I didn't learn anything. I need to know about my disease not how to mask it.
